A few times, putting this together, I though I was going to break it. My biggest complaint is that the top right side will not attach, the holes were made too low.To order the piece I need is under warranty and free, but only ships to the US; that doesn’t help being in Canada. I can’t take the screws out; so, make sure you do everything exact, or you might not be able to go backwards in construction. It’s still not fully assembled, I need to find longer screws that match so they will lock in place. If I can’t find screws for this, I will be asking for a refund; I cannot find contact information for the seller here on Amazon and still have the Kids Kraft ordering page open (still figuring out my options, because as I said, I’m struggling to deconstruct. I’m going to have to return it as a whole piece-pfft, yeah right, shipping cost; it’s more likely garbage) - More work than anticipated; more work than putting together IKEA bunk beds.Unique design, cute piece for kids, poor workmanship.

We’ve bought a KidKraft products in the past/been happy with them and this one did not disappoint! Easy to assemble by myself, all you need outside of what’s included in the box is a screwdriver. It feels sturdy and I especially like that the cushions are connected with Velcro to attach to the bookcase. We own a similar bookcase made by a competitor & their 3 separate cushions for the reading nook are always slipping all over the place if not falling off when my kiddos attempt to sit on them. My only complaint is that the 4 lower shelves are on the shorter side, but the 2 larger shelves on either side of the reading nook are tall enough to accommodate all of our larger hardcover books so it works for us!

Fairly easy to set up (but pay attention to the instructions). Feels sturdy. A little large for a smallish 18 month old but she can get up and down easily and will grow into it. A little pricey but I feel like it's worth it.

Very sturdy and relatively easy to put together. I originally wanted one in natural but the expresso was the only option available, still looks great though.

The final product looks okay and is functional but you can see that there is low quality standard at production. The paint is chipped, cracker or smudged in many area. The packaging is okay but the content is damages in multiple areas. Items #2, #12 and #6 were damages, and there is not that many items in the box.I like to have pristine products when I buy something new and this is not what you get here.

Overall 5 stars . It durable for 5 years and younger. I got this for my 9,7,and 6 year old for study time. While the assembly was rather easy as long as you follow the steps. I must say it's not as sturdy as I hope but its deff 4 star worthy perhaps 4 1/2. I fell it should last for some time as long as the kids arent too rough with it. There was a few scratches . Minor. Not worth the hassle of sending it back. It's a good product. I will be ordering another. I thought it was bigger but its actually quite perfect.

I’m soooo disappointed with this product. I was so excited for it to arrive because I could envision my son curling up with a book in the little seat and it matched his new room. Well, I usually put this stuff together myself but my guy friend offered and I needed the help. I wanted to blame him until I read the other reviews and it seems like many people had the same problem. We have both put together many items of furniture in our lives so we aren’t beginners. The boards were so flimsy and cheap and I believe some of the hardware was defective. There is a nail sticking out of the side that we cannot get out with Allen wrench or pliers. We are both strong and tried everything. I don’t even think I’ll be able to take it apart to return it. It also damaged the board. This used to be $75 and some how it went up to $105 and I really wanted it for my son so I spent the money. Now I regret it! Even if the nail wasn’t sticking out on the side this should only be $50 MAX. It’s cheap and a lot smaller than it looks in pics too. (Yes, I read dimensions before purchasing but still shelves seem tinier in person). Very disappointing and I hope I can get my money back.

It definitely has a few knicks/scratches, but hey, it's for a 3 yo, and they don't show once assembled. I put this together in less than an hour, and I'm 7 months pregnant. KidKraft always has easy instructions and well organized hardware. Looks cute and sturdy, hoping my son will be enjoying it for a few years.

While it was a slight inconvenience to put together (really not a big deal,) this book nook is perfect! We bought this for my son's third birthday. He's a big 3 year old that fits into 5t-4/5 clothes and I'm happy to say this bookshelf is very sturdy and of great quality. It's bigger than I thought it was going to be which is good considering kids are always growing. My soon to be 9yo also sits in it comfortably. This book nook is a fantastic buy for any child who enjoys reading.

I've put more than my share of flat-packed furniture together and I struggled with this one. Largely due to the angled pieces and incorrect depth of the pre-machined nut holes.Fully assembled the shelf is quite cute and sturdy. It is small (surprisingly small), but is unique in its style with a seat within a shelf.Instructions are well written and I like that the fasteners box actually labels the letter of each fastener (no guessing which screw is what length). All the wooden pieces were labeled also. So knowing what goes where was simple. The angled wooden pieces use hinged fasteners (D part). I first thought they were clever...but after I put them in snug, then part "E" would not turn cause the bolt was not tall enough. Numerous removal, half turns of the hinged bolt, reassemble and it finally turned into place. Additionally, some of the holes that the nut "E" go into are not drilled deep enough. Such that the nut won't even fit in snug with no matching bolt at all (they stick out 1/8"). I had to dig the hole deeper with a flat head screwdriver. They do include a few extra fasteners which is nice.In the end, it looks nice, but the poor machined holes and hinged bolts were problematic during set up.Note also that those ubiquitous fabric bins that fit perfectly into the 3x3 and 2x3 shelving units you can buy everywhere, are too large for this shelf.

I love this. It's not as high as the picture might suggest (I think it's only 2 feet tall) but it works for us and our smallish rooms. I purchased two, one for m 3 year old and one for my 5 year old. They were mostly easy to put together. For the first one, the back panel is supposed to go on last but the holes were not aligned. We redid the slanted side boards thinking that maybe something wasn't screwed in tight enough but that didn't fix the problem. So for both we ended up putting the backboard on after the slanted side boards and then finished with the top two pieces (directions say to do the backboard last). It still wasn't perfectly flush but it works. With all of the furniture I've put together I have yet to have one where every corner and piece is completely flush and where it is supposed to be.The wood seems durable; stronger than some Target/Walmart pieces I've purchased. The cushion has a zipper all around so it can be washed. I'll probably air dry it because I'm paranoid about these shrinking in the dryer. It actually fits more books than I thought it would. The lower cubbies don't fit our tall, full sized books but the top books fit all of them and we have a lot of books.Pictured is my 5 year old. I know she might look uncomfortable but she really does love this space.
