Some assembly required but is straight forward. The instructions aren’t a lot of help. It is excellent once assembled Sturdy. Railings and wide steps makes use easy. Good for older folks (I am 89)

It's a bit heavy but I can move it around. It's easy to use. Safe , functional and looks great. Height is good as I can reash the heighest shelves in my apartment. Didn't wiggle, pretty solid.

I ordered this because my Rubbermaid similar style was a bit wobbly since one of the foot base plastic covers broke. These steps are much wider so I can easily put both feet on one step. The metal on this is round tubes rather than the squared of the Rubbermaid so hopefully if something happens to these feet caps it will be easier to replace, The stairs also seem to be a softer feel rubber than the Rubbermaid. The grip on top is like a soft pool noodle so that isn't as nice for resting an object on as it could permanently indent. It took me a while to figure out how to close this though. There is no button to push to fold it as on most of my other metal step stools. I even went back to the listing and then tried pulling on that metal brace but the only way I could get the ladder to fold again is to yank with force on the top step. It also doesn't lock into place as easily when opening so I actually have to open as much as I can and step on it for it to lock into place. Hoping that changes after a bit of use but then not sure what that will do about the safety of it when moving it from place to place as in if using to clean up high and moving over a foot or so without having to fold/unfold each time. I deducted a star because of really wishing it had the safety lock/button for the folding.

This works will for me. Gets me to the very top of my cabinets and other things in the house. Steps are large and the small ladder is stable. It will make a loud pop if you don't have the step completely down. It folds up and is easy and convenient to store. Good purchase for me.
