I previously had one of those diatomaceous earth absorbent mats for my kitchen faucet, and it didn't take long for it to get discolored and grow mold. I think silicone is a better choice for this type of application as it can be easily cleaned with soap and water or in the dishwasher.This mat is nice and large to catch most of the water from washing dishes and hands. When water does get on it, it tends to pool more than run off. I think a steeper angle would have been better to encourage the water to flow off the mat.To me, the promotional photos make it look like a cool white mat, but it's actually more of an ivory. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but I would have preferred a cooler white to match my countertop.
