Easy to install and looks great in my Mini Cooper R56 S. I feel a slight increase in power but not really a change in sound. Love it!

Fair warning. K&N website indicates that this part will fit my vehicle, a 2010 MINI R56 John Cooper Works. Amazon correctly identified it does not. Taking a chance, I ordered and had to modify the metal intake pipe. It has to be cut about 3 inches from where it attaches to the mass air sensor and air filter box. Do NOT purchase unless you are absolutely sure this will be a drop in fit without any modification. Just be prepared to cut the intake pipe with a metal hacksaw. I used a small had held one which will work fine. See the attached images for the final product installed.

All good! This and a inercooler on a R56 is an awesome upgrade! As you know K&N has done this for year's! Fit was perfect, the sound is awe inspiring!

Love the sound it puts off but don't feel any more horsepower I was looking for more power pretty easy install a little pricey for just a sound

The various components are made to a very high quality as you would expect from K&N. The aluminium intake tub in particular looks great in the engine bay. Detailed, step by step, instructions with pictures are included and the process is straightforward for DIY project. If I had a complaint it would be that the hose clamps are a little too small and took some convincing to get them on the various tubes. Also, it would have been nice if hardware to attach the filter heat shield was included rather than having to reuse the old screws that hold the oem airbox together.Upon start up of the engine, there was a distinct difference in the sound. Much more aggressive. Driving sound left me speechless. The turbo induction, blow off, and turbo flutter sounds are intoxicating and highly addictive. Heel-toe downshifts are now accompanied by a very satisfying 'ptssss' blow off sound.Is there a horsepower gain? I have no idea. There is a lot of debate about CAI kits on Mini's because the oem unit is actually quite good, especially the JCW version; they actually suck cold air whereas this K&N open system inevitably sucks hot air from the engine bay. I argue that's the intercoolers job, to cool the charge air. However, even if I lose HP I don't care because the induction sounds are totally worth any marginal loss in HP.

Installed with ease in about an hour, checked all fitting to make sure the clamps were tight, started the engine and became totally aware of the transformation to a beast! Just kidding.....everything seemed about the same as far as engine sound goes. I took my 2010 Mini S for a test ride and couldn't really tell if I gained anything or not. The engine sounded the same as it always has. I couldn't hear the vacuum sound others talk about but I am quite sure this hi pro induction kit will help with MPG and performance. Time will tell. A week of use and I checked the fittings again. Wonder how long I was driving my car without the filter attached? I found the filter completely off the fitting that comes through the box. When I tried to clamp it down again it slid off the fitting and wouldn't stay on. I am not a happy camper. What's the deal K&N, certainly this is an on going problem that needs to be resolved? After cranking down the clamp on the MAF tube inside the box the filter still came off so I went to my local hardware store and got a wider ss clamp. That did the trick although I still think K&N should knurl or rib or something to the filter to keep it on the fitting.

Very easy to install. Uses bottom half of stock airbox, to keep the ram air function of the stock tube. Adds noticable turbo spool noise, and recirc valve noise. Car pulls harder in higher rpms and sounds great! Great quality.

Ein unglaublich toller Sound entsteht durch diese ansauganlage. Purer Turbo krach wie tuner ihn wollen und lieben. In Sommer in der stadt allerdings eine Katastrophe, durch hitzestau steigt die ansaugtemterartur und der motor regelt runter was nur geht :( aber must have !!!

Alright, so this is my 4th Cold Air Intake. 2 previously on Acuras, one on a V8, and this one on my Mini Cooper S.First, installation was really easy, probably the easiest I've done yet. All the pieces were easy to reach, and the new stuff fit perfectly. I had it done in well under 1 hour. I read another review that one of the hoses kept slipping the hose clamp, and that happened to me at first as well. Moving the hose clamp closer to the edge helped it hold tight.Once installed, I found the throttle to be more responsive, with less turbo lag even without using Sport mode. The purr or the engine is more noticeable, as is the sound of the diverter valve.I highly recommend!
