How High-Flow Technology Works
How does the K&N 57-2532 increase horsepower? By eliminating airflow obstruction in your engine. Restriction of air flow between an air filter and an engine robs even the most powerful engine of horsepower. K&N air intake kits virtually eliminate air path restriction by replacing the standard air filter and the entire air path to the engine. The aerodynamically engineered conduit that makes up the 57-2532 drives a massive amount of air into an engine, which translates into power. This conduit begins with an oversized conical high-flow air filter. This larger filter can fit into the engine compartment using factory holes and mounting points because the 57-2532 replaces your stock intake tube, and air box. This provides more airflow at lower restriction than a standard filter, limited by the size of the factory air box. The oversize air filter also captures and holds more dirt, increasing the service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles). The filter is also isolated from high engine temperature by a heat shield designed to lower the temperature of the air entering the engine, which increases horsepower.

. The filter attaches to a rotationally molded tube made from nonmetallic interlaced high density polyethylene (HDPE). This allows for precision shaping of the tube to reduce turbulence and accelerate airflow into the engine. This is why some K&N tubes have unique shapes or indentations that are specifically engineered for each engine configuration. Finally, the tube is connected to the engine with adapters made from high strength materials such as silicon and reinforced nylon and ensures long life. Put all this together and you have the best high-flow intake system available today.
Street Legal
Many K&N intake systems are street legal in all 50 states and include a California Air Resource Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) number that ensures the kit has been tested to comply with emissions standards. EO numbers apply to the kit as well as the year, make and model it is being installed on. Systems with no EO number are street legal in most states but may not be used on emissions controlled vehicles in the state of California or other states adopting California emission standards. I bought this for my 2005 Mustang that I no longer have. I thought I might feel a difference in horse power. Didn't seem to make a difference. I later installed a Pro Charger. That made a big difference. Went from 210 hp factory to 350 hp at the flywheel.

Found this on Amazon for much, much less than anywhere else on the internet. Well worth the lower price for a minimal increase in horsepower. It's worth it to never have to buy another air filter again. I have K&N's on all of my vehicles and they never fail to perform as expected.

I installed this is in my V6 Mustang. I knew that it wasn't going to make a huge difference in the way of performance, but it does make some difference. I notice a much better response time and all around faster acceleration. The thing I must say I am happy with the most is the sound of it. I enjoy my little V6 sounding like a V8. Installation wasn't too hard. I have done minor upgrades before, but this is one of the most technical so far. My biggest problem was getting the intake tube to connect with the throttle body. I was worried about a leak but eventually I got it. Overall, Looks great, Sounds great, makes a bit of difference. Now after I am done ragging on my car a little bit, I hope to see about a 1-2 mpg difference...HOPEFULLY.

Was totally easy to install, directions were a little confusing but a buddy and I put this thing on together. Sounds cool, I can definitely notice a little boost in HP. Not totally sure about the whole gas mileage boost yet, I've been driving with a sand bag this winter. I'll probably get the thing tuned when I install dual exhaust, I'm sure there will be huge gains when I get that all set up.The customer image was posted from me. The thing looks real cool as well.

Its not the easiest install but anyone can do it. Just follow the instructions and use some common sense. When finished it looks great and isn't over flashy like other intakes. It appears stock until you take a closer look. The filter is enormous compared to the stock one and you can hear the air entering under throttle. Great addition to an exhaust kit.

It took me an hour or so installing this, it's not that hard, really. The filter is easier to replace/clean compare to the stock intake. I noticed some mileage improvement, probably 2-3mpg. Not much HP gain unless you're driving on the freeway and floor the gas pedal, there you can feel an extra "push". This intake looks great under the hood, it makes my car even more sportier. It also compliments my dual exhaust, the sound became a little deeper. This is one high-quality product. I recommend this to anyone.

I was very excited to receive this. First, the price was much better on Amazon then anywhere else I looked for it. I installed on my 2002 Ford Mustang. I made sure to look into the install process before I even ordered it. It didn't seem too complicated. Ha. The directions are very good, however the pictures are grainy and in black and white, making for a hard comparison of what's going on. I wound up following along with the top portion, where they had a diagram showing all the parts. The o-rings broke, and while K&N sent replacements right away, I still had to put my car back together, so the intake went in without them. At some point I know it'll need to come apart again, but after spending 4+ hours getting it together and in, I'm not looking forward to that. The fit is tight inside the engine, they want you to install it completely assembled, and I had to take it apart to get it to fit right. The first tank of gas was gone way sooner than I would have liked, I'm currently on my second, and it's a little better, though not great. I do really like having it in my car. Just be prepared for the install.

Installation was straightforward (exception 1 step) but it takes a little while. Definitely worth it though. Bought it for gas milage mainly. First tank i got 19 mpg in the city compared to 16. Went down after a few months to around 1-2 mpg. Might be my driving habits though.It makes a cool sound when you start your car, like a high performance car. It goes really well with a dual exhaust system because of the increase in airflow and in turn performance and gas milage. Its easy to replace the filter (although they are really high, get the cleaning kit from K&N) and looks cool in the engine. Don't expect alot of performance out of it, its not a supercharger. I saw a very modest gain in throttle if at all. Get it for gas milage because of gas prices! (But be easy on the pedal, it will also USE alot more gas)
