. How High-Flow Technology Works
How does the K&N 69-2526TP increase horsepower? By eliminating airflow obstruction in your engine. Restriction of air flow between an air filter and an engine robs even the most powerful engine of horsepower. K&N air intake kits virtually eliminate air path restriction by replacing the standard air filter and the entire air path to the engine. The aerodynamically engineered conduit that makes up the 69-2526TP drives a massive amount of air into an engine, which translates into power. This conduit begins with an oversized conical high-flow air filter. This larger filter can fit into the engine compartment using factory holes and mounting points because the K&N 69-2526TP replaces your stock intake tube, and air box. This provides more airflow at lower restriction than a standard filter, limited by the size of the factory air box. The oversize air filter also captures and holds more dirt, increasing the service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles), and is isolated from high engine temperature by a heat shield designed to lower the temperature of the air entering the engine, which increases horsepower.

The filter attaches to a mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to fit many sport compact performance vehicles. Each kit is proven on a rear-wheel dynamometer to increase horsepower and torque. Typhoon intakes come in one of three designs; cold air intakes (CA), short ram intakes (SR), or complete cold air (CCA) intakes which can be configured as either a cold air intake or a short ram intake. Available in an assortment of powder coated colors and polished aluminum, these kits are sure to please in every way.

Street Legal
Many K&N Intake Systems are street legal in all 50 states and include a California Air Resource Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) number that ensures the kit has been tested to comply with emissions standards. EO numbers apply to the kit as well as the year, make and model it is being installed on. Systems with no EO number are street legal in most states but may not be used on emissions controlled vehicles in the state of California or other states adopting California emission standards. Use K&N's search by part to see which cold air intakes are CARB exempt for which vehicles.

Still a fan of K&N but this product was disappointing. The instructions were very poor like if printed out with a copy machine that was running out of ink. The two most important issues were that the shoulder coupler was just a generic coupler no emblem etc, and the coupler that connects the filter to the pipe was missing I had to go get one myself.

I had trouble getting it to fit where the original air filter housing is located! It don’t go all the way down like it should, but I did manage to make it work! Other than that everything else fit like it’s supposed to! While I was at it, I went ahead and cleaned the throttle body( Which needed to be done a long time ago) it was really blackened over! By doing that and adding the cold air kit, it pumped it up pretty darn good! Made a world of difference! So all in all it was well worth adding to my 2018 challenger R/T! Love it!

I've been using K&N filters for 20+ years & this is my first 'bad review'.My kit was probably put together late on a Friday afternoon. As you can see in the pictures, the 2.5" metal pipe I received in my kit, is for a completely different vehicle. It is not the 3.5" pipe that should have been in my kit, for my 5.7L ChallengerI live/work in the Middle-East. The chrome pipe systems are not available here & thus had this kit shipped from the States, with some added shipping costs of course. It was not worth returning the entire box, back to the States. I contacted the seller & had no luck getting just the correct pipe sent to me.I ended up with a custom fabricated 3.5" pipe, manufactured locally & seems to do the job. It is not the prettiest, but it gets the job done.Everything else in my kit did fit as described. Just a pity I could not get hold of a replacement for this single incorrect part I was sent.

I just finished installing the intake system on my 2014 R/T Charger it took about 2 hours and the last hour was in the dark with some distractions. The only reason it did not receive 5 stars is because the instructions were poor, The installation paperwork said 2006-2010 Charger ,now not to much has changed but it is not clear what exact bolts/washers go where and the heat shield does not fit where it should you have to customize it. A few pictures just got me close to where i should be looking and i pretty much made do. Now i took it out for about 5 minutes around neighborhood gunned it a few times i Definitely hear a good sound once you get above 3500 rpm sounds great , good throttle response feels a little quicker ill do more playing around in the morning tommorow. I also added a throttle body spacers which is suppose to help with low end torque and mpg. So i will see in the next couple weeks how my mpg are doing

Worked great on 2014 Dodge Charger and sounded awesome when you got on the throttle. I noticed and improvement in gas mileage too. I wasn't expecting to see an increase in gas mileage so that was a bonus. But it really woke up my engine and sounded like a monster when you got on the gas.

Installed on 2012 Challenger R/T, great sound, slight increase in throttle response and looks great. Relatively easy install, had to modify tube support bracket to get it to fit correctly (increase adjustable hole size about 1/4 inch), still only took about 1.5 hours total. Not sure if it increased mpg or not, can't keep my foot out of the throttle on this beast!

I have a 2007 Chrysler 300C 5.7L HEMI and having had a K&N CAI on my previous 5.7L HEMI RAM 1500, I knew this was going to be my first modification to the car. These my only give a little (if any) horse power increase (I have not felt the urge to pay for a DYNO to check 8 - 11 HP) but it does improve the gas millage & throttle response and you just can't beat that great intake sound when you put your foot in it! For my car the factory intake was very easy to remove and the K&N was pretty simple as well. I did make one mistake I'm going to have to correct and altered the install at one area from the instructions. If I can load the picture I took of the completed install, I make notes on that as well but here it is. The first thing you remove is your engine cover and since I'm getting old and have CRS, when I got to the point (step 19) to install the replacement crankcase vent hose, the instructions just say you may need to trim to fit so I installed it on the engine, then pre-fit it to the connector on the CAI, cut and installed it (as you'll see in the photo if I get it loaded). All was fine until I was done and got to the reinstall your engine cover. That first attempt reminded me that the engine cover has a U shaped gap/hole on the driver's side specifically for the crankcase vent tube but of course I trimmed it too short so that it cannot extend out from the engine far enough to go through that gap and reach around to the CAI connection. So when you fit this hose, put it on the engine and then put your engine cover on and run it through the gap before you mark and trim the hose! :( The item changed from the instructions is in step 21. It tells you to connect the inlet air temperature sensor harness extension and run it under the throttle body and secure it with the provided zip tie. When I pre-fit this it seem just a little too close to the top of the serpentine belt even if secured with the zip tie you risk a failure that will drop it right into the belt so I ran it over the top of the throttle body (as I hope you'll be able to see) making sure that the connector was to the passenger side and below the top of the throttle body so as not to obstruct the engine cover when installed. I also use two smaller black zip ties to secure it as the one K&N provides is quite large and all is well. It fits great and is all very secure so no rattling or extra noise you don't want. I highly recommend this product!Update - 130903: K&N may not want this passed around but I think they're a great company and it needs to get out there. Spending three boring days looking for a replacement "universal" silicone hose for the engine crankcase hose I cut short, I said what the heck and sent an email to K&N Customer Service yesterday. I explained my mistake and ask if they sell the individual parts for the kits so I could replace the hose. They replied today asking for the part number and a mailing address so they could replace the hose for free! I sent it and they're shipping tomorrow. You can't beat K&N!
