The NR-1500 is the replacement for the NR-1200. We’ve started using the new 21700 style battery which gives us higher lumen output, and longer burn time. The packaged battery is 5000mAh vs 3400 with the 1200. That’s a lot more juice! Still having the exact same feature set as the 1200 this is the ideal compact dive light. Simple push button to turn onoff and cycle through brightness levels. Built in bottle opener on the rear of the light make getting to those refreshments after the dive day a breeze! Included carry case lets you pack the light, battery, and charging cable all in a small kit to fit easily in your dive bag. Battery level indicator built in to button shows if you have a full charge quickly before you get in the water. The new 21700 battery is now using USB C technology so no more upside down cables, just plug directly in to charge!

Did some night dives in Bonaire with this terrific light and loved it! I rarely used it on max power, usually lowest setting, during the dives. However, if I wanted to spotlight something under a ledge or piece of coral, it definitely can do that, as well. The construction is solid, and the light has a pleasing weight to it.

One of my NR-2000 lights with fresh battery wouldn't stay lit, would flicker on/of and between modes and go off by itself, sometimes could get working by shaking it. By swapping parts with other light, narrowed to issue with base. Solved by cleaning the metal top rim of the base with rubbing alcohol, which must be the electrical connection between top and bottom parts. I sent an email to Krakan support a few days earlier and haven't yet heard back. When first purchased one battery didn't charge, but Kraken replaced it, and that works fine. Lights are very bright and last through a dive.

This light looks great on the outside, but that is not the case. Not sure if I got a faulty battery but I’ve charged it for 24+ hrs and I am not able to get more than 2 mins of light. Cannot believe I wasted $200 on this light. Every time I turn it on it’s bright for a few seconds before the battery indicator goes from fully charged to “very low” as is indicated in the user manual. There’s no water in the housing or anything of that sort. Literally on the first dive I used it, it failed on me in a cave and I couldn’t see anything or film. I tried and tried it for several dives but it is just a piece of crap. Also, lithium batteries are mid.

This is a great light with great features. I had a problem with my light but the Kraken folks were super responsive and resolved the issue. I tested the light and found that the battery maintained full brightness on full power for over 2 hours, complete shut off over 2 1/4 hours. But I found that full brightness is too bright for a night dive so you have a tremendous amount of reserve.

I’m fairly knew to scuba butI night dive and wreck dive so I needed a bright light. My previous lights were disappointing. This was very bright and great for using with my camera. I didn’t run out of battery but the battery charges quickly. I love this torch!
