This is a practical solution for creating a barrier between wet and dry areas. It is made from smooth, flexible silicone that easily adheres to flat, smooth surfaces. I recommend adding some silicone caulk along the edges for a better seal. Installation was straightforward. It is low-profile, soft enough to step over comfortably, and does a good job of containing water within its designated area. Recommended!

I ordered this 98” Long Shower Threshold Water Dam not to use on a shower but rather underneath my garage door to stop water from flowing into my garage. Whenever rain blows in from the east I get water seeping underneath the edges of my garage door so I installed this water dam product onto my garage floor directly underneath the bottom of the garage door to prevent future issues with water flowing into my garage. The length of this specific water dam product is just over 8 feet making it perfect for my 8 foot wide garage door opening. Although the water dam has a peal off tape to expose a sticky adhesive backing, I used the included silicone caulking to ensure a very solid adhesion to the concrete floor. Testing revealed that this water dam does work to block water from flowing into my garage now.

I am using this water dam for flood retention in my new laundry area of our main bedroom and not for a shower so your results may be different. I'm not so sure I'd use this for a shower, but it seems ok in my laundry area. The area is only 5 feet wide so there was plenty and good thing because at each end the adhesive not so great. But trimming at each end to fit worked out. It's not really collapsable but that didn't matter in my case. I'd recommend using a silicone caulk along the leading edge. The instructions weren't the best but it's pretty self-explanatory. The floor was smooth and gap free so there was no problem there. I'd only recommend this under the right floor conditions, (flat and smooth).

I had a terrible time with this product. The instructions are in broken English and contradict themselves in the steps. The backing of the dam was lumpy when received, exposing the adhesive before I even started. Even though I thoroughly cleaned the application area with alcohol and let it dry, the dam will not stick on the ends. The addition of the silicone is very messy. The dam is not tall enough to do much in the way of blocking water. It is not white in color as it is in the pictures in the ad. Don't waste your money.

I only gave this 4 stars because the included silicone that was provided was hard as a rock and un-usable however I didn't exactly expect to use it and had one of my own but wanted to post that here for transparency. I would buy this again if needed. I cut it down and installed it in a more unique way I believe (See photos). Cutting the material was very easy although trying to cut 45 degree angles for my corners was a little more challenging but no fault of the product.

We use this barrier to stop water from our outdoor shower from making it over to the toilet area, keeping the toilet are floor dry. It was an easy solution and a super quick cut and installation. It keeps the shower water away from the places we want to protect.

Used this in a pool pump room to keep some minor leaking at bay. It is holding up well but make sure you thoroughly clean the surface sticking to to. The seal depends on it!
