Ordered this ladder to replace the one on my motor home and followed the directions for the installation. When done the ladder has a large gap in the rings where the hinges are that makes it almost impossible for me to climb. I can’t believe that they would sell a product like this.

Does require some time to assemble and depending on your RV some cutting of ladder tubes. Take your time doing the installation and will be petty soild when done

The ladder was very narrow & cheaply made. If you weigh more than 140 lbs and that’s pushing it, this isn’t the ladder you want to buy. Top portion, where ladder is bolted down to the roof, is scary. Too cheaply made. I had it installed so, l wasn’t aware of these problems until after the installers left and l tried to climb the ladder.

After I received the ladder, it was several weeks before I installed it. My wife threw away the instructions by mistake. I contacted the seller and they quickly emailed me another set. I then set about installing it on my Coachmen Spirit 19 foot travel trailer. I checked my local weather for rain and temperature to allow pre-purchased sealants I used in the installation to dry properly. I removed the loose, removable footrests black end-caps and saved them until I was finished (see end). I hung the upper section of the ladder from the rooftop. My roof is curved, so I had to adjust for that by measuring where to cut the left roof mount shorter. So with the ladder hanging straight down, I measured the distance of the space between the right roof mount and the roof of the RV. I cut this exact amount off of the left roof mount tubing. I rehung the ladder and determined where I wanted the bottom section and the four straight supports to be placed. I removed the ladder and installed them using the instructions for best placement, though I improvised somewhat. I rested the ladder back on the roof to mark with pencil where to drill the holes. The stud-finder did not work well, but I estimated as best as I could and drilled tiny exploratory holes. This proved wise as I missed the vertical metal and wood interior fiberglass wall supports. I found that I did not need to get all screws to find a support so long as most did. Wall supports may not perfectly line up on both sides. I checked by gradually placing weight on the lower footrests as installed the screws. Mine came out very sturdy. I later filled the exploratory holes with high-quality quick-dry ashesive sealant. I widened the correct holes, placed sealant under them and around the edges of the mounting brackets and around the screw threads for the straight supports, and curved mounts at the bottom. For roof holes, I put the same sealant around the screw threads. The next day, I covered the roof screw heads and mounting plates with self-leveling Dicor sealant. I also used the adhesive sealant to adhere the footrests plastic endcaps.
