The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE monotube replacement and as an OE twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness & control, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand.

Installed on 13 YO xterra pro 4x instead of expensive Bilsteins. Rode too rough with bilsteins. Slightly softer ride now but not much. I never go off road but live in snow country. Easy install.

Good price, easy install and really improved the ride and handling of my Xterra Pro 4X. Whether they will last over 200,000 km like the Bilstein's only time will tell. Some reviews suggested they could be too firm but I think they are about right. Would definitely purchase again. Just wish they would make matching monotube front shocks for my vehicle.

I installed these on my 2006 xterra in April 2018, and I have to tell you these are the best rear shocks I have seen for the xterra and frontier. I recently bought Bilstein 5100's for my frontier and they weren't nearly as strong as the KYB. Don't cut the strap until you have the bolts through both holes or it will be extremely difficult to compress it enough to slide the lower mount bolt through. Just slide the top onto the upper mount stud and raise/lower the axle with a jack to line up the bottom.

2012 Xterra X 4wd. My X has 60,000 miles on it and the factory rear shocks were pretty much shot. These shocks were a direct fit, easy to install, and the improvement in my ride is dramatic. The vehicle brakes better, accelerates better, and steers better. No more body roll. This is not surprising given the state of the old shocks and I can't really compare these to what the stock shocks felt like when they were new since they had 57,000 miles on them when I got it.However, I can say without reservation that I am extremely happy with these shocks. The price was right and the performance is very good. Not too stiff, not too soft. These are just right.

I am pretty happy with these shocks. The factory installed Bilsteins gave out and I replaced it with these. I prefer the feel of the ride of these shocks compared to the OEMs. Adequate damping and works well in corners.
