This is coffee unleashed. We begin with beans grown at high-altitude in the Peruvian mountains, handpicked at peak ripeness, and perfectly roasted to a rich, robust profile. Then, after expertly grinding the beans down, we add a proprietary mix of organic functional mushrooms, including Chaga, Lion’s Mane, Maitake, and Cordyceps. This supercharges your morning cup with just the right amount of adaptogens to help launch your best self.
Grown in the mountains of Peru, our beans are farmed at an altitude of over 4,000 feet, which extends the growing process time and creates a deliciously complex flavor profile. They are then picked by hand, ensuring the perfect ripeness of every single coffee cherry.
Next, to supercharge this morning fuel into a superfood, we add organic extracts of Chaga, Lion’s mane, Maitake, and Cordyceps functional mushrooms.
This blend is for lovers of a smooth and robust dark roast. Our roasters work slowly and diligently to make sure every bag serves up the maximum richness for the premium coffee lover. (You won’t taste the functional mushroom extracts but Laird certainly loves their benefits!)
Chaga
This highly desired mushroom, sometimes referred to as “Chaga Gold” and considered the “King of Mushrooms, grows on hardwood trees, primarily Birch trees, and is found in the colder, northern climates.
Lion's Mane
Lion’s Mane is an edible mushroom native to North America, Europe, and Asia and is also known as the bearded tooth or pom pom mushroom. Lion’s Mane is easily identified by its bearded look. Used for its properties, you won’t taste the lion’s mane flavor in any of our blends.
Cordyceps
Functional support for performance and elevated energy.
Maitake
Maitake has been used for hundreds of years in traditional Eastern cuisine and medicine for its support of overall health and vitality. Maitake’ means “Dancing Mushroom” in Japanes

I’ve been on the hunt for a good organic coffee and was thrilled when I stumbled upon Laird Superfood’s Functional Mushroom Medium Roast. I’ve tried several mushroom coffee blends in the past that made me feel great but seriously lacked in flavor. As an avid coffee drinker who loves a rich, full-bodied cup, I was skeptical—but this one totally exceeded my expectations!When searching for a proprietary blend mushroom coffee, I noticed that many popular brands sacrificed caffeine content, often offering the same amount of caffeine as a cup of green tea. That just wasn’t cutting it for me. After doing some research on this Laird roast, I found that the medium blend contains 100mg of caffeine per tablespoon serving in 12oz of water—the perfect amount to keep me energized without going overboard.I chose the medium roast because it had a quicker delivery than the dark roast, and I’m so glad I did! The taste is ok not my favorite but not bad. I bought it hoping to help with mental focus. In some ways I felt it worked some but after I stopped I couldn’t tell a lot of difference. I am afraid it was more of a placebo effect.
