I bought this rug for a friend, she has been doing latch hook for two years and loves making rugs and pillows.. oh and she is blind, we have a process, I count the squares, record the count, and she puts into braille.. she then uses that to work each ten square… her work is amazing, this one might be challenging because of the shape but I know we will work it out.

The yarn colors are not as pictured. Since the instruction sheet identifies the DMC colors, you can look online to see exactly how off they are. The main color of the fox is supposed DMC-920, the rich rust color in the example photo. However, the yarn provided for the main color is more of a DMC-740 pumpkin (yellow orange) color. The light shading color is a mustard, and the dark shading is a golden brown. They do not go well with the pumpkin color, and the result lacks the subtlety of the example photo. Photos in other reviews show the actual colors you will receive.On the plus side, it looks like the printing on the canvas matches the chart pretty well and is not crooked, though some of the charted squares on the edges are cut off by the seam. The binding on the seam attaching the canvas to the backing is white with a black dotted line, which I suspect will be unpleasantly obvious once the piece is completed.If this kit is for a someone who just like foxes and has the patience and perseverance to hook some 3300+ knots, it should work just fine. However, if it is for someone, either adult or a child, with a good eye for color who likes the sample photo, they might be disappointed.In addition, the kit was shipped in soft packaging, so the case it came in was crushed. The kit was fine because yarn and fabric can survive crushing, but the potentially reusable case no longer looks very good and would not make a very attractive gift. (No stars off for this; poor packaging is not the kit's fault.)

The kit was great. It has everything you need. The colors were not that vivid on the stencil, however I feel like you can’t go wrong, and every result will be unique.

This was my first latch hook project. The kit came with everything and the pattern was easy to follow. The instructions weren’t clear but there are plenty of videos on YouTube to get you started.The final project is adorable and my cat loves it. I’m looking forward to my next one.

We absolutely LOVE this cute little rug. I bought it as a beginner project for our 8 year old daughter for homeschool. She picked it up right away and is doing a very great job. Instructions were simple, includes pictures and a map/legend for were to use the latch hook. Good quality yarn too! We will be purchasing more of these from this place in the future.

My daughters 12, 9 and 7 all worked together on this as a gift for a family member. It turned out great! There was plenty of extra yarn leftover. Very easy to follow where to hook. Everything came tidy and was easy to keep organized. Highly recommend!
