Local craftsmen have been hand pouring and dipping candles the old fashioned way for over 40 years, and have since expanded their line to include potpourri made with high quality botanicals to match their jar scents. The Old Candle Barn started out in John and Fannie Beiler's basement during the late 1960's. The candle making business expanded so rapidly they had to move the operation three times before settling in Intercourse where the current building consists of approximately 28,000 sq. feet. Here at the Old Candle Barn we like to say "Blow out the lights and turn on the candles".

The scent was a bit overbearing for the first day or two but that's to be expected. Now I just give the bowl a stir and enjoy the fragrance. I may try vanilla or another scent next time.

Pretty look and smell! Could smell stronger but still nice!

In the picture this looks more burgundy but truth be told it is a much darker lavender shade. It is very pretty in a bowl on a shelf. That is where I put mine. The scent does not smell exactly like lavender essential oil, more like a light floral scent with hints of warm fruit. Maybe slightly spicy.Don't smell this right out of the bag after it has been delivered and left in the sun to heat up. It will smell totally different then. Set it in a bowl and let the potpourri air out a bit. I did not feel that this fragrance was overly strong so may be good for people with scent allergies. It looks pretty in a bowl and fills in a spot on my bookshelf that was empty.~The Rebecca Review5/28/2024 - P.S. I refreshed my bowl of potpourri by pouring in some vanilla essential oil. Now I'm keeping the bowl by the front door on a table. The combination of this scented potpourri and vanilla is heavenly! I'm getting a new bag because a few times a year it is good to change it out. So one bag lasts me a year or more as I use half each time.
