Give your lawn a breath of fresh air with lawn aerator sandals. Attach spikes to molded plastic base, strap onto your shoes, and take a walk on your lawn! As the spikes of your lawn aerating shoes puncture the ground, they allow air, fertilizer, and water to get down to the roots. An alternative to renting expensive lawn equipment. One size, 5 1/2"x 12" long.

These sandals work, however the flimsy plastic buckle will loosen as you walk and you will continually have to tighten. Another personhad the right idea when he said invert the buckle. In other words instead of having the buckle on top of the strap, reverse it so it is underneath the strap. Then when your leg lifts it pulls against the teeth and will hold longer. Its a pain to do this but it does work. I ended upand also purchased some velcro straps and used those with an overlay of about 4" and those straps never budged! I think I just might do awaycompletely with those cheap buckles they supplied and use just velcro. Hey there Manufacturer, are you listening? If your going to sell thisthen test it and listen to the feedback.

I usually don't write reviews, but with all the negatives on this item I felt I had to. Just purchased these to aerate my lawn after a brutal Northeast winter. My grass was matted down real bad and the dirt was hard packed. First off....follow the directions....If you strap these the way they tell you too there is absolutely no way they can come off your feet. Second, some people complained about the nuts coming loose on the spikes, so I put a little thread locker(Loctite or equivalent) on them on initial assembly. My lawn is upwards of 4000 square feet and the straps had no issues and the spikes did not come loose or break at all.As far as usage goes, im 170 pounds. The spikes had no problem going right down all the way. One thing I did do was spray a little coating of wd-40 on the spikes right before using....it keeps the dirt off and helps them sink in better. I walk in a herringbone pattern. don't try and walk like you would normally do. You have to push straight down and pull straight up for these to work. The best way is how I mentioned above. Imagine you have skis on and the tips are pointed away from each other. This makes it easier to balance and easier to walk in. Also, if the spikes don't go all the way in, wait until its raining or just rained to try again, or do the lawn as best you can then try again in a few weeks. Forcing them is a sure fire way to break one......so that's it.....for the price these are unbeatable. work like a charm if you follow the directions and use a little common sense.

Early April 2013 - I was expecting something a little more durable and well put together, however for the price I would say it is worth it. The product comes with 2 peices of plastic, the velcrow and screws and bolts that you have to fasten yourself. This is time consuming and quite a bit frustrating. Had i known, i probably would have spent a little more on something nicer, but again for the price and the purpose it is a fairly good deal.4/19/2013 Update - After putting the product together and using it for the first time, i felt compelled to update this post. The straps are of the cheapest quality and DO NOT stay on your feet, thus when walking through your yard, it makes for a VERY akward experience and you will be lucky if they stay on your feet. I tried for literally a sold hour to weave the straps in and out of the plastic pieces to try and find a way to get them to stay on tightly without comming lose to no avail. I am a fairly intelligent hands on guy and I am telling you first hand, this product will not work. I wish i had rented or purchased another product of much higher quality. At times, you win when saving money by purchasing a cheaper make shift product, but this unfortunately is not one of them. You would literally be better off taking basic garden tools to try and aerate your yard, trust me.This product is of the cheapest of the cheap and i highly recommend staying away from it. I will be literally throwing it away. It does not even make sense to keep in a garage just in case as it will NEVER work and furthermore if you have children it is an extremely serious hazard as it is a very dangerous product to have in reach.STAY AWAY. I would post this novel unless i truly cared and would hope that others would benefit from my experience as i have benefited from similar posts about products.
