Be sure to connect the battery during installation. I missed this step at first and thought my unit was bad. Easy to install. Works great.

Hopefully the battery will hold up.It is bright enough - not great, but good enough to satisfy the fire inspector.

EDIT: 04.02.24Our fire safety company came today for our yearly inspection for our extinguishers and emergency lights and this unit did not work when the power was shut off to test it. When you pressed the 'test' button it just blinked-on for 2 or 3 seconds, giving the impression it works. It does NOT. All this time I've been checking it monthly using the test button thinking it was working. It's now just past the return date, so I'm out of luck. Thankfully it wasn't a lot of money. But, I would not purchase this product. It could prove to be dangerous in the event your power goes out.Original post:Was afraid I might break it. But once up it was good to go! Works as advertised.

Since I am a retired electrician install was very easy. The emergency light works great. I would recommend. If I need another one I would buy this one again

Installed this unit in my basement near the electrical panel. I'm very pleased with the amount of light it provides on battery power. It appears to very well built and installed easily. I don't really know how long the battery will provide power for the lights, but the specs state about 90 minutes which is long enough to start my generator and switch the required circuits over to the generator. The specifications do not state how long battery life will be in standby mode. Time will tell.
