The aluminum poles are good. The plastic parts not so much. I noticed slippage on the mountain the -4 temperature meant that I could not use my fingers to adjust the tension. You should use the poles with a good pair of crampons

Price seems high when trail buddy poles are like $20. theres not a whole lot of difference other than the material the grip is made from, which doesnt justify the extra $130.its thin aluminum and cheap plastic for the poles. i havent taken these on trail yet, but i look forward to doing so.
