I use these clear envelopes to store my yearly income tax paperwork. I then use a sharpie to write the year on the outside of the envelope which makes it easy to locate the paperwork at a later time.

Overall these work well but I had trouble with the string closure. The strings aren't attached (I tied it onto one side) and twice the plastic disc's that you wrap the strings around fell off. They are flimsy but workable.

Capacity is very, very decent I would say 50 to 60 papers, probably more, while sturdiness is not the A+, if handle properly (no bending, etct.,) can last a long time.

I use these for my yearly storage of bills and records that need to be kept for a few years out in the garage. I also use them for filing away our church records that are kept "forever" as it protects them from moisture as well as other possible damage for long storage. They are large enough to hold entire files by subject for me and that's very convenient if I have go back to find something.

These clear envelopes are a simple but great solution. We keep records / receipts / special items in the clear envelopes, which makes it MUCH easier to find what we're looking for.In theory, we should label every opaque envelope. In practice, rarely have time to do a good job, or to update them as needed. Opaque folders hide the contents. Clear see-thru envelopes are quick and easy.We first used the envelopes with the snap button closures. But those take up extra space where the snap buttons line up in a drawer. The string closure envelopes pack tighter.
