Wore this to a 2025 New Year's party. The blue & yellow-green design pattern, plus the circular "⏻" (power symbol) near the tip reminds me of a peacock tail feather. Good for attracting bird enthusiasts? hahaFive light settings: steady on, slower blink, faster blink, animated pattern wave, and sound-reactive output visualization. Five separate LED panel groups for the last 2 settings; the "⏻" is its own. The panels aren't *super* bright– you couldn't tell the light was on in bright sunlight– but outdoors at night and in most indoor settings it's bright enough to see.The zipper-loop tab lock feature took a bit to figure out (flip out to loosen), but once in place it stayed well. There is no sensitivity adjustment for sound-reactive mode*, but it seems to be calibrated for club-type settings (i.e. loud). The 2-AAA battery compartment at the bottom inside of the tie is a bit chunky; would not recommend attempting a vigorous mating dance. (I would've placed the battery pack up closer to the knot.) Still, the pack is secure and its batteries are easy to change without needing a screwdriver.Despite its minor flaws I give it 5 stars. It's got a subtle, nerdy I.T. vibe and it's just eye-catching enough with its 2-color scheme without being garish.*EDIT: There IS a sound-sensitivity control! It's a tiny wheel on the side of the battery compartment I didn't realize was there until I wore this to the Portland Winter Light Festival. Makes it even better!

I got these to add to my LED clothing collection - I am a big fan of both night walks and night events, so I like to have light up gear to use during those times, especially if I have company or my dog with. This felt like a nice easy addition. The good points:It pretty much works exactly like it looks in the picture. It has a sort of zipper/cord adjusting function that works pretty well for making it fit just so, and the appearance is great. Unlike some LED ties, this doesn't have some long cord attached to a battery pack, so it is far easier to wear, and despite having a small battery attached in the back of the tie, it doesn't really weigh you down or look obvious. Plus, not that much battery to get things going. It is very bright, and with a button push, it is easy to cycle through display styles. The less good points:It is "noisy". Not necessarily loud, but there is a sort of persistent buzzing sound while you have it in light up modes. If you'd already at a reasonably loud event - like an outdoor movie, a concert, etc, you might not really notice and it would just fade into the background. But once the outside sound is gone. . .it is noticeable. It's not like a pain to hear, but it can be kind of. . .annoying? I guess that is a pretty fair trade for the overall look and especially the sound reactive effect, but I probably won't be using it for the quiet night walks due to the buzz. Still worth it, just make sure you'd using it in the right setting.

The listing for this Novelty Tie is a little incorrect. It uses AAA batteries, not AA's.There appear to be five modes, although, on the sound reactive mode, I'm not entirely sure how well it picks up ambient sound, still testing, though if you speak within close proximity of the control unit, it picks you up.The tie is basically exactly as stated in the listing, with the exception of the batteries being listed incorrectly. All in all this is the perfect tie for a party I have coming up, and will be pretty visible with the suit I'm wearing. The loop for your neck is generous, I have a large head, and I have no issue fitting it over my head and tightening it similarly to a normal tie.Deducted one star just for the battery thing, and the item including no instructions.

The zipper size adjustment is perfect for putting on without knowing how to tie a tie. Adding the batteries was a little tricky as there were no instructions but the webpage on Amazon had a page that explained how to do it. Once I read that it was a breeze. Uses 2 AA batteries but the container is at the bottom so it actually helps hold the tie down against your shirt. Good engineering. Tie looks great at night and is visible during the day.

Gave as a gift but it didn't work. Thought it would be a fun tie for a school dance.**Update** Customer service responded quickly, issuing a refund. Satisfied with outcome.

The tie makes a high pitch noise when on that will drive you mad. The dial on the side doesn't seem to do anything
