I'd swear these filter wrenches get eaten at my shop or they're made so cheaply the swivel breaks (although I think they break more from misuse than quality). This one seems to be well made and will work for the intended use. I wanted a filter wrench that would hold up in a shop environment. This one should work for what I need.

Have the whole set, used it professionally for years, used a few cheater bars on them took off a lot of tight oil filters and still a very strong filter wrench. absolutely rocks.

Works exactly as it should, does not bend or slip like many of the knock-offs do. Took off my Duramax LLY oil filter with ease, what's more, you can easily use this to tighten the new one on without crushing or scaring it too much.

I've got shed loads of tools including strap wrenches, chain wrenches, clamp types etc but then encountered a 91mm 16flute fuel filter on a Volvo V60 hybrid and nothing would release it. I was dubious about this one but it's great quality, solid, really well made. I was concerned it would damage the filter housing but it grips so well it was effortless.I'm genuinely well impressed, one of the best tools, if not the best I've bought in years.I could bin quite a few of my old ones, the others are useless in comparison.

The last time I had an oil change on my 81 Corvette, they either overtightened the filter or didn't lubricate the gasket. I did the next oil change myself and the old filter wouldn't budge. A cap wrench didn't work and I broke a cheap strap wrench trying to unscrew it. I bought the Lisle wrench and after several tries and much effort, the filter finally started to move. Even though the filter became mangled before budging, the wrench was able to grip the filter with no damage to the wrench. The gripping points on the strap really help. It's made for a specific diameter filter so make sure you check your filter before ordering.
