This toy really helps pre-toddlers refine their fine motor skills by lining up the little round toy into the hole then aiming the hammer at it and hitting it through the hole. My grandson cracks up laughing every time he is able to aim and hit the ball through. I think he feels a sense of accomplishment and laughs in excitement. It is a great toy for his age group which is 1. The pieces are small enough to fit into his tin baby hand which is another big help with promoting his fine motor skills. It's simple, yet sophisticated in the amount of teaching it intrinsically does. I recommend this for ages 1-3.

The holes for the balls need to be a little tighter. The ball can be put on and it falls through without even using the hammer. Kind of defeats the idea of this toy. Other than that, the quality is pretty good.

I am not paid for my reviews.This hammer toy is wonderful for toddlers for so many reasons! I ordered it as a Christmas gift for my 18-month-old grandson, and it quickly became one of his favorite toys. He even takes it to bed with him! The fun, bright colors immediately caught his attention. The hammer and 3 balls are an ideal size for little hands and are ergonomically designed for an easy grip. It’s well-made and sturdy, able to hold up in the rough-and-tumble world of a toddler! He likes to play with the hammer and balls separately from the “main toy”, but once he figured out the premise of hammering the balls into the holes and watching them drop down and reappear below, he was hooked and anxious to play that game over and over again. He’s able to entertain himself independently with this toy for at least 20-30 minutes at a time. Lots of learning opportunities, too, including color recognition, counting, eye-hand coordination, and understanding cause and effect. Selling for less than $15 (at the time of my review), I think this is an excellent value, considering the quality of item that I received, and the hours of play time our little guy has already enjoyed with it.

My 6 month old loves this toy! It is a simple design that keeps her entertained for at least 15 minutes. If you have a baby you know that that is a win. I love the bright colors. The hammer and balls are light which is great for little hands to pick up. It may not hold up as well when she gets to be a toddler but for right now it is perfect!

Got his for a one-year old, who LOVES it! It's lightweight, and easy to clean, and the balls are not a choking hazard. Lots of fun even without using the hammer.

Got this toy for when my grandson comes to my house, and he does enjoy it! Hammering things is fun, and he loves balls. Perfect combo:) It is colorful, and comes with 3 balls and a hammer. The balls come rolling out to be put down the holes again for a bit of fun entertainment. Great toy!
