Both the Firm and Flex Karebac sanding blocks are superior quality. The block face material for sandpaper adhesive is far more durable than any other brand. Changing sanding strips is a breeze. Blocks fit the hand well and are available in many lengths. Karebac blocks are a better value than other more expensive blocks. Amazon has had the best price I have found.

This may be okay for curved surfaces, but it is no good for flat surfaces because it's not flat. It's got a bit of concavity molded into it, and because it is a "firm" block, if you try to force it to conform to a flat surface you'll just end up exerting more downward pressure at the ends than the middle, leading to uneven results. I ended up using another block entirely.
