First, if your boat is like mine, it has steel shaft the steering wheel mounts on. This wheel, like many replacements for boats and golf carts, is a 6-screw mount. That means you need an adapter and this one comes with that.That said, the wheel is solidly made and looks great. I expect years of use.

The wheel on my boat was deteriorating and I picked up this wheel as a replacement. I love the feel, but especially the adjustability; the wheel has 6 attachment bolts and hub has 12 holes, which makes it easy to get the wheel aligned properly. One small thing the instructions miss is that the hub is not threaded, it is a hard plastic that the bolts will bite into. Make sure the bolts go in straight, and don't over-tighten them or you may break the cap that goes over the wheel. Because they go into the plastic it compresses around them and they self-lock. They don't need to be tight, just snug so the cap doesn't come up. The torque on the bolts is sideways when you turn the wheel, not vertical, so six is more than enough to handle that.

This wheel is a good replacement if you need a basic wheel for your boat. I was hoping for better quality on the grip as it's more of a hard plastic or vulcanized rubber. The inner aluminum is nice and has a brushed texture to it. Mounting and installing is just like any wheel, though this one doesn't come with a nut or washers, so keep your existing ones.

Nice brushed aluminum finish, looks great in sunlight with stainless. The cushioned rubberized wheel covering is typical for a boat, waterproof and has a somewhat cushioned feel when you grip it. I'm going to wrap it with a rope for a customized look. The axle and key-way is for a normal 3/4 axle boat steering unit so it should fit most boats. Overall i received what i was expecting to receive from the product photos and description and price.

This is a very sturdy steering wheel. I really like the feel of the leather and the quality of the construction. It is well made, heavy duty and fits my boat well.It was a bit of a challenge to install due to screws that are too short and lack of instructions, but my mechanic made it work using his own supplies.Overall, I feel that this is a high quality steering wheel and will last through many seasons, unlike my current, mostly plastic wheel. I think this is priced well and I it looks great in our boat.
