Broke while trying to pump gear oil into my lower Merc engine the first time I opened it. Returned it.

So in all fairness, I had planned to change my lower unit oil in the spring with this pump but decided to get one more year out of last years lube, lol... So my review is based on my opening it up and testing the parts. Compared to the other 2 that I own, this one seems to be about the same quality. The fittings on my other ones are steel while these look to be aluminum, but not sure this will matter. My other one can fit both wide mouth and normal mouth quarts, but this one only does normal. The pump has good spring tension. I am replacing my old one because the straw keeps dropping off in the middle of pumping. These pumps seem to only last 5 years or so.. Overall, I'd say get it if the price is right.
