I installed one of these on my previous boat and it worked great for almost 6 years (I then sold the boat). Ordered two for my new boat (twin outboards). On second trip, the one for the port motor started registering 200+ gph even with the motor off. It is past the return date, but I inquired about a warranty claim through Lowrance a week ago. So far, I have not gotten more than an automated response with a case number.Update: After 2.5 hours on the phone, mostly on hold, they sent a replacement Fed-Ex. That one was in 2-3 months and then failed again. They responded quickly to my email this time and a second replacement is on the way.Not sure if I got really unlucky or their quality is going south. The rep said they have not seen a double failure like mine. The STBD sensor seems to work fine. We'll see.

To start positive it does seem to be accurate at cruising rpm telling me my 496 I/O is burning 16-18gph. The issue is at low rpm like an in gear idle it will read a huge range between 1-15gph usually reading at the high end of that for long periods of time. After a weekend of camping and putting around that caused the fuel burn for the trip to read 140gallons when in reality I found I maybe burned 60gallons. It made for an uncomfortable trip home not knowing if my tank sending unit was wrong or this flow gauge. I reached out to lowrance tech for help a week ago but never got a response so that too doesn’t help my confidence in keeping with the brand. I don’t know if I have a bad unit or if the software in the lowrance chart plotter is to blame. Either way I’m moving on.

This product is perfect for any two-stroke engine that does not have oil injection. When you have to fill up the boat full with gas, you have to know exactly how much fuel you’ve used so that you can mix the proper amount of oil in with the gas. This sensor lets you know exactly how much fuel you’ve burned.

Installed this a few months ago. Turns out that my fuel level gauge is inop. So I am using this to calculate the fuel used and now I know how much there is remaining. Overall awesome part.

Easy to install. After 250 miles i determined that it is 89% accurate meaning that it was conservatively biased by 11%. Perfectly acceptable performance.

Seem like they will work fine when properly installed. Don’t cut corners, do the install correctly and calibration. Plastic seems cheap and weak.

product is very unreliable. would not purchase again. Had 2 items malfunction right out of box..Just an update........ After returns and returns i fianlly got a unit that worked. installled in on the boat and 18 months later the senosr died again.... Would be cautious if you purchase one.... Shame on Lowrance for not correcting these sensors....
