Update after a few weeks of use: When the battery runs low it will not switch into eco mode and it turns off instead. You have to remember that holding the button from off will enable eco mode, otherwise the light just shuts off after a few seconds. Battery life on medium is barely any longer than high which doesn't make sense, only lasts about 5 hours on medium. I was hoping it would get double the battery life on medium but it doesn't. So unless you use low setting, you have to charge the light every couple rides which is annoying. This is a great bike light for nighttime in the city. The reflector has a good cutoff to avoid blinding cars and pedestrians. However, the drawback of this is that the peripheral lighting is greatly decreased and would likely not make this a great light for trail biking or complete darkness. It came with a 5000mah 21700 lumintop branded battery but did not have a spacer for 18650 batteries like I've seen on older versions. I find that medium setting is good for daytime visibility and high is good for nighttime. The mount is adequate but it's plastic and feels like it could break if tightened too much. The lanyard makes up for this because you can loop it around the handlebars to act as a safety if the light falls off.

The light and battery are great! Good light distrubution, visually pleasing color temperature of the light, and a very nice 21700 battery. The mount however is junk. The strap that goes around the handlebars is made from a really terrible cheaply made plastic that is very easy to snap if it's too cold or you're over eager. This desperately needs a product redesign as bike lights need to be able to handle some amount of abuse and all temperatures, and the mount just turns into garbage if it snaps too far up the strap. I will say that the part of the mount that nestles the headlight is great and is made from a better, thicker material, however is only as strong as its weakest link, the handlebar strap. There's a few third party mounts that use rubber straps that I highly suggest to check out.

I use two of these on my e-bike. They work very nicely and last a long time on the medium setting. High is very bright but you may want to bring extra batteries for a long distance ride.I use it on the street and in my opinion it probably is not bright enough for trail biking.

My favorite light! I have 2 of them on my bikes and I also use them when camping. Recently my wife lost one and I bought one more. None of 3 lights ever had any issues. The most reliable light I have ever had. Waterproof and no issues with strong vibration in mountain bike or occasional dropping. I usually use medium brightness setting riding in the woods after dark. The mount is very sturdy and holds the light well. I feel confident riding downhill fast. At the same time it is easy to take the light out of the mount (just pull hard).I use 21700 battery in it. Enough for multiple hours (probably for all night). I always have a charged second battery with me, but never had to switch the batteries while riding.

I've ridden at night for 30 years. This light has a perfectly shaped beam for night bike riding: wide oval, with a secondary beam downward just in front of the front wheel. The middle setting compares favorably to a single headlight on an automobile in illuminative power, and provides several hours of light. Further, the lamp projects a warm, natural light that makes it easier to interpret what the rider sees, as compared to some of the blue, cold lights of other lamps. My favorite bike light. I own two so that I have a backup in the unlikely event I need one. I love riding at night, with the right lighting.

I really liked this light when I originally bought it. However, after about 500 miles of around-town riding, the internal spring that serves as the positive battery lead broke, and the Lumintop representative with whom I communicated told me that there was nowhere in the U.S. (Lumintop is based in China) to which I could send the light (which was no longer under warranty) to be repaired.Hoping that my light had been just a defective unit, I bought a second one. Unfortunately, the second light broke in exactly the same manner as the first one did. I can only guess that when Lumintop designed this light, they just stuck a different emitter/reflector assembly onto one of their existing designs without accounting for the vibration that a bicycle headlight encounters, which is too bad because the rest of the light is really nice.So to sum up, I bought two of these lights, and they both broke in exactly the same way, so I can only conclude that this light has a fatal design flaw. I can't recommend a bicycle light that breaks after only about 500 miles of light-duty use.My original review:This light is well made and works as advertised. My only complaint is that the built-in battery charger does not charge the battery fully - I have to use an external battery charger to accomplish that. Otherwise, the light is just about perfect for me.And in response to other reviews that complain that the switch's back light is always on, you can disable this by pressing the switch quickly 5 times when the light is off (it's in the manual ;)).
