I needed a rivet gun to install some rivets for new speakers in a car that unfortunately used them. Never touched a rivet gun once in my life, so after sleuthing online, I decided to buy this one and call it a lifetime purchase since I’ll likely rarely use it.First impression is intimidation; you can feel and smell the Made in USA exuding off the hard steel. Right out of the packaging, the adjustment wheel was exactly where it needed to be to grip rivets with only slight pressure on the short-stroke handle position, but at the time, I didn’t realize this was the correct way. Never saw the instructions on the handle until later, so I tightened the wheel all the way… a prelude of things to come. After watching a single short video on how you use a rivet gun, I attempted to install my first rivet and… it stopped pumping after the first actuation of the handle. Confused, I fiddled around with the gun until, eventually, it stopped working altogether.I searched online, I watched videos, I contemplated waving my fist at the sky. Eventually, I surrendered and called it a night, with the river gun dangling precariously off a barely-started rivet in a fully disassembled door on my daily driver. The following morning, my wife came to my rescue. She watched a video herself, inspected the gun, cross-referenced how it worked mechanically online. The decision was then made to add a little oil to the clamp end, use a flat-blade to pry apart the clamp, and to make some adjustments to the wheel. Finally, the rivet was freed! And then…Uh. I found out I was dumb. Again… It’s a trend, sadly. With the help of my lovely wife in making the correct adjustments, following the instructions on the handle now identified, and giving it a test run, I was able to make VERY quick work of all the rivets on all four speakers I needed to replace. Super easy to use, super reliable, super quick - for a mechanical rivet gun, given hand strength. The night prior, I was ready to curse the existence of rivets entirely. But after being shown the error of my ways and taught right from wrong, I’ve come to appreciate them! Not love them. But appreciate them. Thanks to this rivet gun. Will definitely keep this around for any random project that may come my way again.

My hubby uses this DAILY for his job as a Seamless Rain Gutter Installer and it works VERY well for him and he will order another when the time comes. So far this one has worked well for him for over 6 months.

Seems to work well and feels good. Time will tell if it is really worth twice the price of some of the others. Stanley has one for about half this price which feels just about as good. One small nit is that the nose pieces are not labeled. Not a big deal, but other guns at a third of the price manage to label the nose piece for size of rivet. Also the lack of packaging was disappointing. NO box to store it in, no small wrench to change the nose pieces. Zip tied to a piece of plastic and cardboard is not my idea of proper packaging for a product of this supposed quality.

Only lasted maybe 50 rivits, the first 6 or so worked great and it seemed to operate smoothly, but after that the ease of use quickly deteriorated, despite adjusting it and cleaning it. I ended up throwing it away. I try to only buy USA made products and I am happy to pay more, but this was possibly the worst tool I have bought.I would give it 0 stars, but that option is not available.

Made in the U.S. Plus you can actually get parts to service it (Imagine that.) This is NOT a disposable tool like the Chinese-made ones at the big box stores. I was so glad to find this because I'm tired of buying junk hand tools. I'm happy to say, for me, that it's lived up to the reviews.Once I read the instructions on how to adjust it, I have pulled steel and aluminum rivets of all sizes without problem -- and these are tough ADP Rivets (also American made). In my experience the ADP rivets are definitely a lot higher quality alloys than ones that come with the cheaper tools. And I'm fairly sure the ADP rivets would have worn out a cheaper tool quickly.

Did not like it. Very hard to work with I wish I didn't spend the money on it. My 10 years old rivet gun is better and cost way less. Don't buy it save your money.

I've gone thru a number of rivet guns in my life, and by pulling some SS Rivets, I ruined another one. So, I decided to see if "the best" one would be the best.Pulling 1/8 " Alunimim rivets is totally without effort, the SS variety takes a hit more effort, but no problem. The cool part of this tool is that it is adjustable in two ways. First, you can change the pivot point to alter the stroke length vs mechanical advantage. Second you can adjust the tension it places on the rivet shaft so that it will hold the rivet so that it doesn't slip out of the gun. No cheap pot metal used in the construction.

It's an overall better riveter than other models I've had (I use it everyday) Takes a while to "break-in".. Don't tilt the tool out of line (keep straight) as you squeeze handle.. It will jamb the shank of your rivet inside the tool and you'll have to take it apart to fix... You can adjust the tension (I set mine to pop a rivet in 2 squeezes) I don't like or need the lock,, so I pulled mine off.
