These Steer Stop devices really did the trick. They are a soft and pliable plastic that is secured to one another with a bungee cord. To install them, just center your outboard motor and push them onto the ram for your hydraulic steering cylinder. One on each side. Simple as that. The yellow pieces help to keep your motor centers and in line with the center of the boat. Looks good as well. You should measure your ram to be sure these will fit.

I recently added power steering to my pontoon and immediately noticed the motor flopping when pulled on the trailer. Very much by accident I came across this steering lock and gave it a try. It solved the problem. The worst side effect is remembering to remove it on when launching, which isn't a big deal at all.A very affordable, useful and easy way to protect your outboard. I recommend purchasing and using.

Used on a Yamaha 150. Slightly smaller allowing 1/4" of play. Easy to install.
