Eliminates all that Chrysler junk, control, ballast resistor, coil and so on. One key fired wire with 12 volts is all it needs. Plug wires were a little short for Mopar but worked. Included a nice two wire plug & pigtail for power & tach. trigger. Cap is big, may require air cleaner spacer.

Totally disappointed the shaft broke right after installation, certified mechanic said it is a poorly built pos.

I installed this distributor in a 74 360 with a stock intake manifold. I had to trim off one of the oe bolt bosses for the old coil mount. The distributor worked great and the vacuum advance was easy to adjust to my liking. I would recommend this HEI distributor.

HEI all the way, eliminate the antiquated mopar ignition system and make it simple.Easy.Wired the hot wire from the coil to the HEI, and done,Go driving. It’s almost too simple.

The electrical connection conflicted with the acceleration and transmission step down linkages. Could not adjust timing due distributor hitting those linkages.

First it’s a very tight fit. The old coil has to be removed. Oil sending unit has to be removed. . All lose wires from old distributor tape up. 12 volt power supply form main switch. Dropped unit in. Installed cap and wires. Unit fired right up. Ran very good for about 200 miles. Started not wanting to start and running rough. Pulled cap. Main control module had shorted out.. after talking to a few people. My truck has to have the duel pickup distributor. Which controls the start and run. Over all very happy with the product, but very sad that it didn’t work. Found a duel pickup, installed and the truck is back and running. So if you have the due pickup. Go back with the duel pickup. It will save you a lot of time.

Was not bad to install quite simple actually. This was installed on my daughters 1963 Plymouth. Worked great till it didn't one night as she was leaving a show around midnight her car just shut off. She called old faithful Dad to come fix it. I found that she had no spark. The problem was the clip that plugs in to the coil for the tach and 12-volt power supply had failed. The wire for the power supply had come loose from the clip. I was able to get it going to get her home. Further investigation found that distributer housing was also full of oil. This was purchased in April 2023 and failed on November 1st of 2023 with 1500 miles on it. Sorry for just now getting around to the review.

This product does not fit. Don’t waste your money. It does not work. It is too big of a headache to install on these cars. It does not work. It does not fit.

Purchased this for 1987 Dodge Ramcharger. It is a tight fit. You can remove the oil pressure sending unit to get some room for the hold down bolt. I put the vacuum can on the right. inital timing is at 20. That would be ok, but this has a 20 degree mechanical advance which puts me at 40 all in. the body wont rotate anymore to retard the timing any further. I dont run vacuum advance. i will take it apart and see if i can limit that mechanical advance. Overall it's a great part and a good price!

This unit is a very tight fit. I like the fact that it is a common GM design. After installation the car started much better than with the old design ignition system.

Great distributor fit was a little to tight I did my fitting a light sanding with out the o ring. Then put o ring back on. I will probably pull it back out and use the factory distributor seal the o ring is loose in groove and oil weeps. All and all still very happy
