About Cuzen Matcha
Cuzen started with a simple vision: to make authentic, freshly-ground matcha accessible for modern, daily ritual. Long-time friends, Eijiro Tsukada and Oki Hatta put their minds together and created an innovative at-home matcha system that uses high-quality, organic matcha leaves from Japanese tea farmers.

We engineered this machine to maximize matcha freshness and to reproduce the qualities of a traditional stone mill and bamboo whisk. Our shade-grown organic matcha leaves are sustainably farmed by small families in the traditional tea-growing regions of Japan. Our Matcha Maker and tea leaves are integral parts of a functioning whole, resulting in a cup of freshly-ground matcha every time.

Easy for anyone to use
Just pour leaves into the hopper, fill the whisking cup with water, select the strength you want and push start. You get the highest-quality, freshest matcha every time.
Under 20 micrometers
Strong ceramic mill components and a complex groove pattern use high pressure equivalent to a traditional 130-pound granite mill, in order to make a fine matcha powder.
For hand-whisking and baking
We’ve included a grind-only function so you can have freshly-ground matcha for ceremonial use, baking and garnishing.
Certified organic
We’re proud to work with Japanese tea farmers dedicated to high-quality organic tea production. No chemical fertilizers and no chemical pesticides were used on our leaves. Our matcha has been OCO-certified organic since 2011. (Last renewed on June 17, 2022)

Aromatic, smooth and umami-rich. Matcha leaves hold their freshness and flavor longer than pre-ground matcha powder, much in the same way coffee beans hold their freshness longer than pre-ground coffee.

We first discovered this incredible maker while dining in our room at the Single Thread restaurant (3 star Michelin and recently named top 2 restaurants in USA and top 50 in the world). The matcha maker was co-created with the company Cuzen Matcha and the owner/chef of the restaurant. The quality of the matcha is top notch and the machine makes it incredibly easy to have perfect matcha every time. Also the company is constantly sharing amazing single thread drink recipes and food recipes you can make using the matcha which is a great bonus

I was excited to try this matcha machine, hoping it would simplify my daily routine, but it has turned out to be quite a letdown. First, you’re forced to use only the company’s matcha leaf packs, which adds ongoing costs and limits flavor variety. The brew cup size is small, so if you’re looking to make a large matcha or more than one serving at a time, you’re out of luck.While it does mix the matcha with water slowly for a smoother blend, it’s not as efficient as I hoped. The lack of a hot water option is another big drawback; for many of us, matcha is best enjoyed warm, and this machine doesn’t accommodate that. Overall, it’s no easier than whisking matcha by hand—especially with the restrictions and limitations. Not worth it for the price, and I regret the purchase.

I recently purchased the Cuzen Matcha system, and I am beyond impressed with the quality of the matcha and the overall experience. This is hands down the best matcha I have ever tasted. The Cuzen Matcha system makes it incredibly easy to prepare the matcha, and the result is a smooth and creamy cup of tea that is truly unbeatable.But what really sets Cuzen Matcha apart is its phenomenal customer service. From the moment I placed my order, the Cuzen Matcha team was responsive, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy with my purchase. There’s nothing I typically love more that beautifully executed works of technology. I was so excited to get this as I had been wanting it for awhile and finally caved. Soon after receiving it truly felt lackluster. Matcha is fine but that’s about it, sometimes clumpy but not the end of the world. I wasn’t truly disappointed until I had a run in with their subscription service online. After months of receiving updates via email and having a subscription account I tried to cancel and order and I couldn’t log in or even troubleshoot via “forgot password”. After contacting the service (which granted was a quick response) they sent me an activation email and said “ We have checked your account setup and the fact that we can send an account invite means the activation was not completed when you created your account.”. Since I had been receiving emails about my account points for months and was never sent an email to fully activate my account I’m not sure how one would ever “fully activate” their account without contacting them via email first. Machines with a more luxe branding need friendly usable user interfaces, websites and customer service. Especially if users are subject to be lifelong customers via tea leaves exclusive to their brand. I will be selling my machine on Facebook marketplace to not have to deal with their subscription service again.

Game changer. The machine is beautiful and the matcha is on par with what the baristas whip up at the best LA coffee shops. I'm so impressed with how easy the machine is to use and clean. It's fun to watch the matcha being made. It makes a perfect matcha shot you can pour over your choice of milk (or you can drink it straight). Highly recommend!
