Went to install and found one of the magnets came loose as it had been very poorly glued (i.e. hardly any adhesive at all).The other set was glued but too much was used and the magnets weren't set in a properly spaced triangle.Clearly quality control is lacking here.The 3M adhesive seems strong enough so hopefully that will stay put.

We got these to install smoke detectors in every room of the house a few months ago. So far they held up great with no issues.Makes replacing batteries a non-issue.

Installed yesterday. Very fast. Followed someone's advice to attach adhesive to wall and wait one day before attaching smoke detectors. Hopefully, I won't have any problems. This was an easy solution when I no longer had the smoke detector base and makes them easier to deal with. Very happy.

Adhesive failed on half of these within 6 months. Don't know what is up with 3M anymore...this is happening with other products I've ordered that use their adhesives as well.

The challenge with this product is how it attaches to the back of the smoke detector. There's a sticker on back of most smoke detectors covering most of the back. The sticker peels off in time on many of my detectors and then the detector drops to the floor!!! I've tried putting duct tape around the edge of the disk to the perimeter of the detector. It helps and often hangs lose then. Once it drops to the floor, a new disk attaches just fine as the sticker is gone but the detector can be damaged. Of course, you're then doubling cost and hassle factor.

This smoke detector magnet is a perfect fit. It is very easy to install and I would recommend putting the magnet on the walls and on the detectors for 24 hrs before attaching the detector to the wall to allow the sticker part to fully stick. I placed the magnet directly onto the plate that I would usually screw to the wall. This prevents any interference with the battery compartment of the detector since the magnet is attach to the plate that is usually screwed to the wall. Because the magnet is quite strong, it’s best to remove the detector by sliding it off the magnetic plate first and then pulling it off.

Parfait pour installer un détecteur de fumée dans ma maison. Ça m'a pris 2 minutes. La partie autocollante est très adhésive et la partie magnétique est très pratique. Donc passez vous de perçage ou autres on colle une partie côté du dos du détecteur et l'autre sur la partie support (moi c'est le plafond) on met les piles dans le détecteur et hop c'est fait. Ça tiens très bien.

Outils d'installation de détecteur de fumée magnétique très pratiques évitant de percer des trous, notamment lorsque l'on rencontre du béton vibré.Pour ma part, collés sur du plâtre au plafond et sur un crépis très léger, toujours au plafond.Des deux côtés, tiennent parfaitement depuis plusieurs années.J'ai acheté un nouvel outil d'installation du même type pour fixer un nouveau détecteur (pour info : le kit comprend deux ensembles permettant de fixer deux détecteurs) Au collage sur le matériau, appuyer fortement, quelque instant, pour obtenir une bonne adhérence
