As a beginner, I wanted a pair of dedicated dance shoes, and these fit the bill... literally. They fit well, the soles are decent, and they give good movement on the floor without feeling too slick. That said, they run a bit narrow, so if you don’t want to fight your shoes like a tango gone wrong, consider ordering half a size up.

First, I'm an experienced ballroom and Latin dancer. I'm nowhere near professional, but I have had hundreds of hours of lessons and thousands of hours of dancing. I've had many pairs of dance shoes over the years, most much more expensive than these. I ordered these because I often dance on floors that aren't exactly good quality dance floors, such as on cruises or on the dock (yes, I said dock, where we dance to live bands every Saturday during the summer), and I don't like to wear my expensive shoes on those floors. As far as the shoes go, they are about what you'd expect at the price. They are a bit stiff, but they will probably soften up with use. The biggest problem with them is that they are small and narrow. I ordered and got a 10.5, my normal size, and couldn't get them on. I had to use a shoe stretcher which did work but they still feel a bit narrow. So, if you're a beginner dancer or experienced and looking for something inexpensive, if you order these, I recommend getting at least a half size bigger than you would normally buy.
