I ordered what I thought was a mans chef jacket that would be a size 42. What I got was a size 14 (ladies) jacket instead. I am not sure if this is a gals or guys jacket. Anyways, I let me chef son try it on and it fits (he wears a Large). He liked the way it looked too. I would recommend, but the manufacturer should fix the sizing issues for men/women.

I don't know what a chef's coat is supposed to be or if you are in the industry, how one coat is better than another but, I purchased this to cook with my girlfriend who loves to cook, and I was getting tired of splashing sauce, grease, etc... on my nice shirts. It looks stylish, is lightweight, and serves it purpose, so I am happy.
