First, I have to say, their shipping dept needs more coaching on packaging an item for shipment. The top had come off during shipping and noted a hole in the box where the arm of the pump busted through. No padding was used. It mainly had dings and chipped paint. Also, the person that painted the pump needs more training. Multiple paint runs noted with some of the runs running into the piston well and on the lower threads. Now the good - After cleaning the paint out of the critical areas and installing the pump, it performs excellent. There is one other thing. In my opinion the design of the top without set screws in the front of the top make it easy for the top to pop off while pumping (or in shipment). Pumps that I've had in the past had these set screws. I installed 2 set screws on mine by drilling and tapping a hole 1 1/8" from the spout on each side, and it holds the top in place very well. Update to review - After two days in service I noticed very heavy black suit in the water inside the pump. It pumped out after a few minutes of pumping. Then two days later same thing. I pulled the pump off and noticed this is obviously a refurbished pump because whatever they coated the inside of the cylinder with is coming off and the heavy rust is now visible. Don't know if this coating is toxic or not but I don't recommend buying from this company.

Don't Buy This. Poor Casting Quality and Piston Design. The unit I bought had a casting defect in the pump cylinder causing it to leak. If that weren't the problem, I still would have had to buy a Simmons replacement piston assembly because the one in this pump is a very bad design and would fail in a short time.

Not the best quality but it does pump water as advertised. Overall, I am satisfied with what I got for the price.
