I used this item on my quilting fabric storage shelf. Fabric is very heavy and the bookends on the shelf would slide and the fabric would sag , then wrinkle. Utilizing this on the end, with fabric sitting between the guides of this expando book end product, allowed the fabric to stay upright. No sag. No wrinkles in fabric. Perfect! I'll buy a couple more for my other shelves.

If you have more than one book started at a time or lots of files, etc this will be great for you. I have book shelves all over the house, filled with books. However, I also tend to have multiple books going at the same time (some professional, spiritual, for fun etc) as does my husband. I do not like piles of "started books" laying around but you cannot put them back on the bookshelf or you won't get back to them. That is where this is perfect. It keeps the books you are working on in one, neat space. It also has 2 dividers attached (making three divided spaces) so more than just adding stability those also allow you to share this and keep your books separate.It also works well for files or dvds or anything you need it for like that. I can put some active files in the office in this along with books or whatever and my desk is cleaner. It hold everything upright very well, no tipping at all. Ad you can slide it over to clean underneath or to get it out of the way if needed and everything stays in it's place.

I've had an assortment of books, journals and DVDs that flop on my desk and always get scattered. This is like having built in bookends. No more falling over and if needed I can scootch it over as a whole. Simple design but sometimes simple is all you need.
