I had high expectations for this product and it failed miserably. This concept is a really good idea but the manufacturer should have put way more emphasis on the quality and stability if they are going to tout their version being superior to their competitors plastic version. In retrospect I should have gone with my gut and opted for the ABS plastic version offered by the competition.

I got these to replace the OEM stirrups that came with my Summit Viper SD that I have had for about 5 years now. I've always been a bit concerned that the original stirrups were made of a plastic material, but to their credit they have held up well. However, given their age it is one of those things I still thing about every time I make a climb - what happens if one of them breaks? I saw these and loved right away that they are metal, albeit coated to help deaden any sound. These fit perfectly on my tree stand to replace the OEM stirrups, and the strap that was included is almost identical to the original strap as well - I replaced that, too, just to have those pieces all be new. I only tried these out by climbing a few feet in a local tree at our park, but my boots fit under these pretty much the same as the originals. I can't speak to the rustproof nature of these because that will be tested over time, but they are painted and then the part that you hook your feet under are also rubber-coated. The rubber coating seems well-applied - there, again, time will tell on how well the rubber coating holds up.For the price and the piece of mind these provide by replacing a critical but older component of the stand with metal instead of plastic, I would recommend these.

Poor quality. Broke first time climbing a tree. Luckily I had backup straps around my boot or it could have been devistating.

Build quality should be a little better, before pressure was even applied, the tack weld broke the second I started to run the bolt in. Poor craftsman ship

Extremely low quality. Broke the first time I used them. Bend easily because they are not made out of hard metal made out of soft pliable metal. Do not buy!!

Wires bent wouldn't even hold the weight of the stand. If I could, I would give zero stars.
