Tips:
1.Appropriate addition of coolant (e.g., water) can extend the service life when tapping.
2. The force must be uniform in tapping operations.
3. First drill the hole with twist drill, and then use the taps tapping. Tapping angle should be vertical 90 degree and keep stable.
4. Tapping depth should not exceed 1.5 times the diameter of the tap: For example: diameter of M6x1 about 6mm, the depth should not exceed 9mm.

This size is not included in standard tap and die sets. While the pitch is rare for automotive service needs, we ran into an instance where we needed both the tap and die.A lower control arm bolt was M12x1.25 and we could not find this set anywhere local. I got this set and used the tap to clean the threads of the bolt hole and the die to repair the bolt's threads. The only issue I had was with the die. It uses a round die handle wrench and my set has a hex die handle wrench. I had to use a vice to hold the die and thread the bolt with a wrench.Overall, this set worked just fine- no problems. Now I need to decide whether to buy a round die handle wrench or find a hex 12x1.25 die.

Got this to replace a tap I broke. I like there are 3 taps to 1 die as the taps are more likely to break. Seems well made & durable. Time will tell.
