Your cart is empty. When the MICHELIN Commander II tire was released it set the standard in terms of tire life, almost doubling the life that consumers would see from its competitors. In addition to long tire life, Michelin has incorporated MICHELIN Amplified Density Technology (ADT) which increases responsiveness. *Commissioned third party tests conducted in 2011 on public roads comparing MICHELIN Commander II tires, Metzeler ME880, and Dunlop D407/D408 tires in sizes 130/80B17 and 180/65B16. Individual results may vary depending on motorcycle type and operating conditions.

I bought my bike (2009 Kawasaki Vulcan) with this tire on it, in 2013. A tire of this grade is suggested for the next model above my bike (Touring - and I have a cruser) - rated to handle a couple hundred more pounds of load than the original manufacturer spec for this bike. I missed a safety check and the wife and I were running a little late - so I didn't look my back tire over before leaving home (foolish). It's hard to see, so you literally have to get down on your knees. This tire had finally dry-rotted over a period (10 years old remember - and 10K miles since I bought the bike - and still had lots of tread left). That said it did NOT give up on this ride - though it did throw a part of the tire while we were riding - and NEVER blew out. I can't say how close it got, but I've already put a reminder in my calendar to change it in 5 years or before if we ride it to mileage specs. That 'little bit extra' that goes into the heavy duty tire - could have saved us from an accident - and maybe saved our lives. Don't 'skimp' on something so important. Get the best and the strongest you can afford...and stay on top of wear and tear before and after every ride. THANKS MICHELIN for an incredible product!

Purchased the 180 and the 130 for a 2010 Harley Ultra Classic tour bike in 2020. Read lots of great reviews and bought them. Was blessed to find someone who could mount and balance for under $50 a tire. I know that's rare. They did a good job. So far, tires have held up well in last 2.5 years. No shuddering or shakes. Good grip. Pretty pleased with their performance and value for the money spent.

I put a set of Commander II on my 2015 HD Ultra Classic. These are great tires for a touring bike. They handle well in wet and dry weather. My bike seemed to ride and handle better. I don't think one would realistically get as many miles as some would have you think. I have 10K miles on mine. I should get another 1K - 2K miles out of it. I would imagine I'll get another 5K-6K out of it. My front tire is at the bottom of the green range on the HD tread measurement tool. I have no complaints about the mileage though other than some advertising would make one think they would get 20K+.Bottom line, the mileage is as good or better than Dunlop tire in handling and mileage and they are less expensive. Good reasons for me to go with another pair before long.
