Difficult for a 5 year old even! Not just folding but pasting or gluing some parts together.

It was a fantastic experience for my kids to play with it and definitely kept my toddler and hsi friends busy during the playdate. They also set up a small kids shop with all the animals they made. 100% worth.

My 11-year-old daughter loves to do crafts, and I thought that this would be a fun new craft she could do, and once she got the hang of it, she could do it with any paper. She has loved learning how to create the different animals and it keeps her hands and mind busy during the long summer days.

The animal forms don’t need to be cut; they are perforated around the edges so you just have to pop the shapes from the page. The instructions are minimal because you just add the glue to the dots. Sometimes it’s hard to hold the paper in place while you wait for the glue to dry, but after about 30 seconds the glue absorbs into the paper and allows you to let it go without falling apart. The printing is neat. The colors are vibrant. The shapes are easy to remove without ripping. It takes some finesse to get the shapes glued together correctly, but it’s a great craft and has really cute results.

This craft is advertised for 6+ in the description, but on the front of the package, says 3+. My 7 year old daughter & her friend put together all of the animals, with a lot of assistance from me. Very heavy cardstock, great paper, very easy to punch out without ripping. But after that, it gets a little difficult. You have to hold & work it together first, to see how it all fits together. The girls had a little trouble with this, as their hands were big enough & lacked dexterity. After figuring out how it all fits together, they used glue sticks on the red dots indicated & then it's a race to press & hold ends together before the glue dries elsewhere. And sometimes when folding a bottom piece into the enclosure, you don't have access to press them together & it comes undone easily. On some of the animals, we used glue dots or tape to hold the pieces together. The girls noticed that the package that held the paper expanded out to be a zoo, and then it was a race to make all of the animals to fill the zoo. Very creative packaging.

These are very cute when they are complete and my 5 year old loves them. However, they are a little advanced on the fine motor department and I pretty much have to make them for my son.
