  • DO NOT CRUSH!

Before you start: Please create a backup of your iPhone.

step 1

Step 1

  • Power off your iPhone.
  • Remove the two Pentalobe screws, located at the bottom of the iPhone, next to the lightning connector.

step 2

Step 2

  • Heat the bottom of the iPhone so that the adhesive softens.

step 3

Step 3

  • Place a suction cup just above the home button.
  • Pull the suction cup to create a small gap between the display and the rear case.
  • Insert the flat end of a spudger into the gap. Slide the spudger alongside the left side of the iPhone. Twist the spudger to widen the gap.

step 4

Step 4

  • Use a opening pick to free the display from the remaining adhesive that is holding the screen in place.

step 5

Step 5

  • Pull the display slightly away from the rear case, to unlock the clips holding it to the rear case.
  • Open the iPhone by swinging it up from the left side, like the cover of a book.
  • Do not fully try to seperate the display yet! There are several connector cables connected to the logic board.

step 6

Step 6

  • Remove the following tri-point (Y000) screws from the lower connector bracket.
  • Label the holes and the screws. When the screws are placed in the wrong holes, it might permanently damage the iPhone.

step 7

Step 7

  • Remove the metal lower connector bracket.

step 8

Step 8

  1. Disconnect the battery connector from its socket on the logic board. Bend the connector to make sure it doesn’t connect with the socket and providing power to the iPhone while repairing it.
  2. Use the point of a spudger to pry the lower display connector out of its socket.
  3. Use the point of a spudger to disconnect the second lower display cable.

Received the home button and installed it. However it does not work. The fit is perfect and it looks to be installed the way the videos show. It just does not function at all.

Waste of money, took it to get it installed by a professional, after it was installed they told me that the button wasn’t working and that it had made more damage to my phone, had to replace it.

This home button is non functioning. Seller is sponsoring the product knowing full well that the buyer isn’t reading the full description. I replaced a broken button with this and got the error displayed “finger print ID could not register”. After second time of reconnecting the cable, decided to read the reviews of the product to discover it’s a decorative button. What’s the point of selling a decorative button for the same price of an actual button? This seller is preying on people not paying attention to the full description.

I couldn’t get it to work, and when I put it on the screen went black and never came back on. Not sure if that was the buttons fault or the screen.
