I didn't even glue it. It's perfectly wedged between my truss rod cover and fretboard.

....but that's good since it can be filed down - you want it bigger, and not smaller. This was perfect!

This was a great nut. You will have to sand it down to size but it worked great for my acoustic bass.

It is a good replacement and only needed minor alterations to one of the slot depth.

I am converting a used Ibanez 5 string bass that I purchased for $80.00. I have been purchasing inexpensive upgrades off of the internet and this is definitely an upgrade over the factory nut. It was easy to sand down to the appropriate height, it looks great, and is inexpensive. I did notice a marked increase in the sustain of the bass, but I also installed a high mass bridge at the same time so that could have an effect as well

I do not recommend getting pre-made nuts. I got this thinking it would work with my Michael kelly Club custom 5, but the spacing was not right and trying to file the spacing was not an option. I could not return because i tried to make it work so in the end I had to get a blank and start from scratch. Unless you know the exact spacing of the ready made nuts do not take a chance with it possibly working. Luckily it was not too expensive and in reality I should have made sure it would work.My recommendation get a blank and file it to specs.
