It is built on the easy-to-install Moen M-PACT common valve system that allows you to make style updates any time without replacing plumbing and is equipped with Posi-Temp technology that helps maintain water. The four-port, cycle valve also provides an adjustable temperature limit stop to control maximum hot water temperature, while the 1222 cartridge accommodates back-to-back installations. Bought 2 for our shower remodel. Moen=quality NOT! Does not mix the water. You have hot or scalding. Yes, was installed properly. Now unless I want to destroy our $4000 surround, I'm stuck with these. Can't even enjoy a shower or use this shower for the kids. WASTE. OF. MONEY.

It used to be you could purchase a shower-only Posi-temp valve that uses the 1222 cartridge. Not any more. I ordered this twice because the description clearly states "Shower Only" but when you receive it, there are four ports - two inlets, one shower discharge and one tub discharge. I looked other places too and apparently Moen has decided that there is no need to offer the shower only valve (at least in this product range). You have to change over to the M-Core family, which doesn't include the PEX-A inlet fittings like this valve has. So, the only way to get a "shower-only" valve is to solder in a short copper tube and a cap on the tub connection. Truly a disappointment.

This valve works great as a water temperature mixing valve. We've had it a year with no complaints, but then I wouldn't expect to have any either. This valve was dictated by the Moen Voss valve handle we had selected. They work great together.

First time I installed a shower valve. It’s a bit awkward to fix in the wall with 2 screws.But the rest was simple plumbing. I removed the internal part before welding.Turns like butter. Very smooth.Hot water limit is simple to adjustThe temperature control works really well. The water stays same temperature when cold water pressure drops. I only feel pressure drop instead when laundry machine kicks in or a toilet flush.No leaks so far. Feel confident it should last for years.

The valve went in very easy. I had to cap of the tub feed and tie in the shower head. I also pulled the valves apart so I would not over heat it. Cleaned the copper and brass up and it flowed perfectly. I like the deep and shallow gauge that allows you to set the valve for rockwall and tile.

Great to have capability of use PEX connectors to supply lines but still have to solder the 1/2” line to shower head. Make sure to remove cartridge when soldering. Very reasonable price for high quality Moen Posi-Temp Pressure Balancing Valve. Totally satisfied

This valve has obviously been engineered and optimized over many years and has resulted in a near perfect design. Installation was easy and instructions clear. Good temperature balance. Recommend.
