wish the unit, for the price had a tread converter or came in the thinner thread model.. i had to return for this reason, needed the tighter threads for the drain.

I would definitely go based off the reviews as far as the measurements go because that’s what I did and it fit ! The hard water in the house ruined a lot of our sink and tub drains over the years causing corrosion of some sort; so it was MUCH needed!🤢 Looks so much better. Bought plumbers putty and the tool needed to get the old one out and it took maybe 5 minutes . 👍🏼

Finally, a Moen product being sold on Amazon that didn't arrive damaged and with the packaging opened. Wow...I was beginning to think that wasn't possible. It's fine. Seems reasonable we'll made and looks pretty nice.

After 25 years our Moen polished brass IPS bathtub spout diverter leaked badly (half water from spout when shower on). Glad to find this two piece pbrass Moen drain kit (drain part is pull up, not pop up). Moen initially sent us a new diverter gate for the old IPS spout, but when the new gate did not reduce the heavy leaking, sent us a new pbrass slip on type spout/diverter that had the same traditional style along with a new matching pbrass escutcheon. Our contractor in 1998 for whatever reason did not continue to install Moen brand polished brass bathtub parts for the overflow plate and drain ( I had requested all pbrass Moen) , but now corrected with this two piece pbrass drain kit. Hired a plumber in Sept 2023 to convert the spout's internal copper pipe from IPS to slip on (copper pipe threaded fitting was cut off); no leaks, and the new Moen pbrass slip on spout/diverter work perfectly. Now all the showy parts of the bathtub/shower are gleaming Moen pbrass (new and old pbrass shine the same), amen. Probably Moen is done with pbrass, so we lucked out here. These 2 Moen parts were part of an accruing list of plumbing improvements that we had neglected: So along with the 3 Moen pbrass bathtub parts (new pbrass spout/diverter/escutcheon, overflow plate, drain), replaced a 40-yr-old sump pump with Zoeller brand model 53, replaced 6 valves with quarter turn compression angle stop valves for 2 sinks and 2 toilets (chrome escutcheons included), and replaced a 42-yr-old outside hosebib with a nonfreeze (proflo sillcock); 4 hours total for all, $1020.Left all work to plumber, did not even try replacing the overflow plate, did not want to see nor tackle any surprises, nor eyes from any lurking creature. Also say the word escutcheon or flange to your plumber a million times so when he arrives he may have them. Ironically when our plumber arrived he informed me there were many past complaints when their service installed without escutcheons - I think all of those complaints came from me; so your homework is to know what an escutcheon is (decorative flange or cover plate to hide wall hole around pipe), and what an IPS spout (screw on a copper pipe that has threads) vs slip on spout (push on copper pipe and tighten with a bolt on bottom - no threads on copper pipe) is; use good/trusted brands.

This drain is pretty solid. The only thing to note is that for regular cleaning which involves removing the top, you'll need to keep special tools on hand. As you can see in the pic, you first need to push in the drain to be able to get a grip or socket on the nut. 1/2" is too big, 7/16 is too small, and good luck finding a slotted flat head wide and thin enough to bridge the gap across the nut. You'll need either an adjustable wrench or an 11mm socket.

I changed colors in my bathroom from chrome to brushed nickel so I needed a new drain stopper. This one is solid and the color is beautiful too. It matches with my other Moen attachments. I bought one at a home improvement store…it didn’t have a nice brushed nickel look, was light weight, and felt cheap so I took it back and bought this one through Amazon. After receiving it, I took it to a local plumbing store to verify the thread and size matched up to the one I removed and it did. It didn’t come with the rubber gasket, so I bought one which my setup required. After watching many YouTube videos, I finally found one that was useful, and was able to install it. The plumbing store recommended this putty and it worked so much better than the harder putties and I tried several! To install I first used my hand and turned the drain from left to right, while at the same time applying light pressure on top, then switched to the tool and finished tightening. I kept checking to make sure it was going on straight and that excess putty was coming up all around edges. I had to start over several times until it went on perfect. Most YouTube videos make it look so easy to install but it wasn’t. In hindsight I should have hired a plumber but I did learn a lot. Thanks for a quality product!!

Great set, however, not the one I received from Amazon. I wound up returning it to Amazon because of defects but bought the identical one from Home Depot. Very sturdy, easy to install (with the right tools) and looks great.Would recommend.

I had a similar issue as others. The drain size is much larger than advertised (not 1 1/2”, closer to 1 3/4” diameter!!!) and so it doesn’t fit my tub. I ordered two of these for a renovation and by the time we were ready to install, the return window was closed. So now I’m stuck with two very lovely but expensive, unusable components. Disappointing because these are very nice - solid and well built.

This drain plug screwed in perfectly to my tub. It’s an old tub so I was worried it wouldn’t fit but the size seemed universal. The easy push to plug and push to unplug is super simple and easy to use. I would recommend for anyone looking for a great value, durable plug!

This was a wonderful purchase. Quality parts, perfect fit, and simple install. I am truly happy with this product kit. I would highly recommend this to others! One thing - do yourself a favor and get a Drain Removal Wrench (about $10.00). It's worth buying or borrowing (from a friend/neighbor/etc.) this wrench if you do not already have one. The wrench makes removal of the old drain easy, easy, easy! You can buy the wrench here on Amazon OR you can find it at any hardware or home improvement store.And.........for the poor reviews based on the diameter of the drain flange, well, the product is correct because it is for a 1 1/2 inch diameter (inside measurement) - hint, hint, the 1 1/2 inch diameter is for the inside of the drain fitting, and, yes, it does fit properly. Therefore, the outer diameter is 1 3/4 inch because it is supposed to be. Mine fit perfectly. Therefore, it's a good idea to measure the inside of the drain flange or even take it with you to a store or to a plumber to verify what size you have. Guessing or assuming just causes problems during the install. Also, do use plumber's putty for the drain flange piece, and after removing the old drain flange - this is a good time to check the gasket between the flange and elbow piping. Mine was in good shape so I left it in place.
