Nice musical bass down to 40 hz or lower. I hate boomy bass, being as I am an afficianado of Phil Lesh's counterpoint harmony playing. In my small man-cave I listen at low levels, so a subwoofer must convey musically and subtley at low volume levels. This one does -- it's exactly what I wanted, at a fair price, and goes nicely with my Polk fronts and center. Obviously I can't speak to its ability at loud levels. Cabinet is heavy, appears over-built for an 8" driver, but what's needed for quality sound. Not tiny, but squeezes in under my desk.

Great subwoofer! Works for a 22x15 room. Paired with a Bose 700 soundbar with a special hack connection. Bose see it as a Bose bass module 700. Loud enough to rattle the room but does not distort the sound.

Very impressive sound quality for the price! I needed something relatively unobtrusive for our living room system and upgraded from an Acoustic Audio 8" sub after I bought a Fosi ZA3 amp. Paired with my Polk Monitor 70 speakers, the low end is much improved with higher output and lower distortion. Using the WiiM Ultra as a preamp with the crossover set at 60 Hz.

This subwoofer was defective right out of the box. It produces a low frequency buzzing noise. It starts to become audible when the sub's volume control is turned past 60%. When no cable is attached to the RCA LFE the. buzzing stops, however, when a RCA cable is plugged it, this triggers the buzzing. I was told my RCA cable is of low quality and is not shielded, bought two purpose build RCA cables heavily shielded and made for Subwoofer connection. Didn't work still buzzed. It also buzzed when connected to the AV reveiver.Fortunately I had also purchased a Klipsch 10" Subwoofer. It produced no buzzing with my RCA cables including the one that was labled as cheap and unshielded.I strongly believe in what you pay is what you get. The Monoprice Premium Select Subwoofer 8" certainly falls into this category. My new Klipsch cost 2.5 times the Monoprice, but you can feel the quality.I will contact Amazon for a refund.

I bought two of these for the home theater in my living room, and they've been great. No, they will not go down to 20Hz, nor should they at this size and price point. What they do is go down to 35Hz solidly with decent extension down to 30Hz. Movies come to life with these subs, with good control of the lower bass and enough authority to make the viewer feel the impact. For music, the subwoofers blend perfectly with my Infinity towers, and provide a seamless extension into the lower bass frequencies. If you're looking for gut wrenching bass, I'd look elsewhere, possibly at the SWS SB-1000 or RSL Speedwoofer, but for the money and what I needed for my room, these subwoofers fit perfectly, while paying much less for two than one of the others.

This has been one of the best purchases I’ve made this year. I was looking for a small subwoofer to pick up where my KEF bookshelf speakers dropped off on the lower frequencies. This subwoofer fit the bill perfectly! This is exactly what I was looking for! Great features and build quality for the price!

The default profiles are not sensitive enough. Half the time the sub doesn’t even register the sound to turn the sub on for the auto setting. So I set it to always on and the sub doesn’t even pick up on enough sound to even consider a sub. So I adjust the settings on the back and i need it to at least half on both knobs which is insane considering you want your balance in the lower frequencies. Otherwise it’s a great sub when it hits

Bought this to replace my Orb Sub8, to pair with my Orb Mod1 speakers, which worked flawlessly together, until the Sub8 bricked. Has low level and high level inputs, so works well with my older amp. Nice compact box, and it just sits in the corner and does its job. Took some fiddling to get the setup right, and I still occasionally twiddle with it. I listen to music more than watch movies. Although it does rumble, if you really want the explosions to crack your drywall seams, this isn't for that, although plenty capable. For the price, I think this was a great choice.

Overall, it's a solidly built, decent sounding sub. The frequency control is a bit touchy (a tiny change near the cutoff point I want either direction results in too boomy, or too lean), but when dialed in, the results balanced nicely with my system.I'm going to give the auto on feature a bit of time before I comment on it, but for now, I'm leaving it in auto mode to extend it's life. So far, so good. It's come on when sound is sent to it.As far as output, it's houseshaking when turned up (too much). I have it set just a touch past half way, and it blends in well with my Boston surround system, providing needed low end, without being too overwhelming. It's a touch punchy when set like this, which is great for action in films. For music, I tend to adjust the cutoff a touch and extend it down some... but I'm still playing with it, and may arrive at a cutoff that works perfectly for both in the room I'm working with (a small, 12' x 16', carpeted living room).
