It looks pretty good out of box. I bought for the knob but will eventually pull tank and replace old unit. The new screw wasn’t long enough. The old screw that holds knob on worked but washer was a bit larger. It is a cheap plastic knob, but so was original.

No issues with leaks yet. Turns on and off easily.

After installing the petcock and before putting the tank back on the bike, I left it overnight in the off-position with about half a pint of gas in the tank.Next morning, tank empty and damp gas patch on the garage concrete. This was the third vendor I had bought from as the previous 2 vendor-products had also leaked in the off.I could not mess around any longer so decided to live with the slow leak as the bike has a vacuum operated fuel cut-off as well. Not ideal, but probably safe enough. It is **very** hard to cycle through the three positions. I thought that with a little gas to "lube' things it might get easier but it has not.So, today I sat by the roadside for almost 2-hours waiting for a buddy to bring me gas. I had the knob in the "ON" position while riding and it conked out. OK, all good I will turn over to Reserve.I did that and it still spluttered to a halt. Buddy eventually arrived with the gas and I rode it home OK. I pulled the tank to check this valve and the Reserve-tube had come loose inside the filter letting all gas out to the engine until it was dry.I have just bit the bullet and ordered the Honda OEM part number 16950-MZ8-L23 and I strongly suggest you do too.
Toño.

Purchased for my ‘02 Honda shadow 600 VLX. Came with some pretty deep scratches in the knob. It fits in the tank correctly, however the positions on the knob are not correct. By that I mean there’s no perfect angle that’s delineated on the knob for on, off, or reserve. Yes I tried taking it off and reorienting it differently and you still have to mess with it find the right spot for shut it off. The best way I found to do so is 1/4-1/8 turns while it’s running, letting it run for a minute or two then turning it again until you find the sweet spot where your carb runs out of fuel. Looks ok, easy install, however there’s a lot of play in it, the plastic is cheap, and with the issues I’ve had with mine I’ll be purchasing an OEM one down the road. In my mind I’d say spend the extra couple of bucks and buy an actual Honda (or whatever brand your bike is) OEM one and not waste your money on cheap junk.

It works. It doesn’t have the same feel as oem, but it works and that’s what hat counts. Plus you can’t beat the price
