For the price this was a no brainer. The alarm in my 2005 ford escape would sometimes go off for no reason and after replacing this for 5 bucks it has yet to go off. That would drive me nuts and I swear I would always be using the bathroom or asleep or doing something were I couldn't sprint to the entranceway of my house to shut the stupid alarm off before my neighbors dogs started barking. Not anymore. Best 5 bucks I've spent in a long time, part swap was under 10 minutes to boot

It is for the hood, not the doors.It is a genuine Ford part in a factory sealed baggie.It appears to be identical in every way to the original switch.Even the part numbers on the mounting plate (included) match the original.It functions flawlessly.Amazon really should correct the description. It is NOT a "Door Jam Relay".The poor reviews are really a reflection on Amazon's mistake, not the product itself.

This switch is the under hood switch located on the passengers side by the washer reservoir and not the in door switch as stated in the description. The description for this part needs to be corrected so that people do not mistake it for another part. If your door ajar light is on then you need a complete door lock actuator asembly which costs around $100 each if you get a Dorman unit.

Saved us a costly trip to the repair shop. Easy to install. Ford Escape horn now doesn't start honking out of the blue.
