Care Instructions

You've put a lot of care into choosing your furnishings and with continued care you should be able to enjoy them for many years to come. We recommend dusting with a soft dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not leave spills unattended. Protect from heat and liquids. Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading. Spot clean with water.

It's a well made, good-looking item and it's ok to sit on. But the next time I sleep on something so hard I expect to be fodder for the coroner.

I was concerned about what would arrive. It was shipped and sold by amazon so I was mostly confident. Upon arrival it was very thin. However, give it 4 days to fully fluff. It is great, very comfortable and good value for what I paid. I got the black which will not stain if liquid spills on sheets. I do not recommend sleeping on a futon without a fitted and top sheet, a double layer to keep it sanitary. My only complaint is the box was sealed with a single layer of tape on each end and was almost torn open. Thanks, amazon.

I have never in my 40 plus years sat or slept in a futon and said that I must do that again. This mattress however, is balanced with firmness and comfort. The packaging was terrible. Both ends of the mattress were exposed due to severely ripped cardboard packaging. It was wrapped in plastic fortunately but I am still lucky that it didn't get ripped or stained from all the mud and snow in my area.

I've lost all trust in Amazon reviews knowing that anyone gave this mattress more than a star. (I also seem to have not gone through reviews thoroughly enough before buying.) First, 8-inches is generous, the depth is under 7". Worse, the "memory foam" is two thin sheets of packing foam surrounded by a rat's nest of lord-knows-what for stuffing, not fit for a dog bed. To be clear, this is *NOT* the traditional memory foam I'm used to seeing in mattress stores. The zippered case would be a convenient way to wash the cover, however you would never be able to remove it and keep the mattress intact. I've included pictures to illustrate.By far the worst thing is something I can't describe in pictures or even words: the smell. It's disgusting and the odor pervaded our house within a few minutes of unwrapping. Imagine the wold's most disgusting bum and he's on a hash and opium vacation, with the sporadic amorous session with his patchouli-drenched girlfriend. And they're burning cheap incense. This mattress retained their scent and then someone put the mattress on Amazon. That's what it smells like.In all seriousness, the fumes were extremely concerning and this was immediately relegated to the garage for return pick-up. I would NEVER let my child or his friends sleep on the mattress. And then the REAL fun began as we're trying to figure out how to get it back into the box.The real winner here is me (?) because it cost me about $10 in return shipping to learn the valuable lesson that we don't buy furniture on Amazon. Never again.

This became the futon part of a futon bunk bed. Three kids used it all summer as a couch, their fort, and a bed (since they all had to sleep in the fort).It's thick, comfy, and heavy. You can't feel the bars holding it up at all.

Would have given this a higher rating but it arrived with the cover zipper separated in the middle. There was padding material caught in the zipper head which probably kept the teeth from properly interlocking. I was able to remove the material, unzip the cover and re-zip/re-align the zipper teeth. Seems to be holding okay. Mattress is comfortable and there was no smell as some reviews have mentioned.

The mattress arrived quickly and was packaged first in a vacuum sealed bag, then another plastic bag/covering that was tightly secured, and finally was slipped into a large box. the box had some damage, but the mattress was perfectly fine inside. We had hoped to open it up and air it out for a few days before anyone slept on it (per another review about it's odor out of the bag), but weren't able to do so. While it does have a slight odor (new mattress smell), my nephew said it was comfortable and slept well on it the night we got it. my husband laid on it and said he might sleep there instead of our bed because he found it so comfy.

Mattress arrived in a tightly wrapped bundle. I laid it out flat on my futon frame and observed it was very lumpy and had a MILD almost plastic-type odor, but I opened the bedroom window, turned on the fan and didn't return to the room until the following day. At that time, the mattress lumps flattened out and the faint odor was almost completely gone. I put on a futon cover and then situated frame into an upright position with mattress on it quite easily. Mattress is very comfortable and I would purchase again. Just be prepared to let the mattress "air out" for a day or two and that it should be laid flat for a day or two as well so that it levels out.
