I originally thought the price was for one pole, and that seemed high but i still bought em. Turns out its for a set and that said these are worth every penny, not sure why folks think they're over priced. Go cheap and enjoy your bent poles. Or buy these and never look back.

For the price, I expected some real quality poles. They worked for a while, but eventually the bungee inside them started stretching too much and not keeping them together. Then this last trip I had a fairly good wind storm (I've seen much much worse) and 3 of the 4 poles I bought bent and then snapped. I would spend your money elsewhere on higher quality poles. Or spend less money rather than buy these.

This is an excellent pole for using with my Lanshan 2 in the winter. I would purchase this item again.

Got this for use with a tarp when going lightweight or just want to put up a temp shelter. Very well made and extendable. Just which it came with a bag

these poles will do the trick since I won't be bikepacking with hiking poles with my Mesh House -1 and the Thru Hiker 100 Wing. Great price too, saved $15 over the msrp. Awesome!

These poles can survive a pretty good beating. The metal feels both thick and durable and has survived some pretty strong winds with a 13'x10' tarp. They look good and have a nice shine to them. I did a fair amount of product research on tarp poles to see what would last me the longest because I live by the "Buy once, cry once" mindset nowadays and these seem to fit the bill. The other telescoping poles on amazon all had tons of reviews talking about how their poles bent in half in the first use so I tried to avoid that and get some reputable poles and they have delivered thus far.My only complaint is the cost of these suckers. Yes they are strong but damn it hurts to pay this much for a single pole. And I had to buy 2. If these give out on me, I'll drop an updated review

The MSR poles are very well made and durable and feel like they could hold up in a serious wind. They are also fairly light considering their size. If you are car camping or setting up a basecamp they are ideal. If you want to carry them while backpacking/bikepacking I would think twice. They are very long when packed away - each collapsed segment is 75cm. They will likely not fit inside most backpacks, and won't fit under a bike frame tube, and protrude out a very long way if you strap them on a rear rack. They are also 2cm in diameter making them very bulky when collapsed. Also worth mentioning is that they don't come with a bag to store them in.I bought these to use with my Kammok Kuhli tarp while bikepacking, for which they proved just too big and bulky and I have returned them. Make sure they are suitable for your intended use before buying. I think for many people they are overkill, and you could get away with a more lightweight solution.

Very pricy but you get what you pat for. Very very sturdy poles, will last forever, and trustworthy.
