This purse hanger is a very convenient size to carry with you in your handbag. It does have a small magnet in it that keeps it wrapped closed. The magnet is about as strong as the type used in many purse snap closures. Should be safe enough for all your electronics and credit cards inside your purse.The back side that sits against the table surface has a thin rubber mat which helps it grip onto bare surfaces. I have my book bag weighing 10 pounds hanging on it to test its strength. I took it on and off the table several times to give it a handling test; it seems to be holding up just fine. Only long time use will tell how durable it is.I jumbled it around in my hands with my house keys to test the finish. I deliberately ran the tooth edge of my keys across the edge of the hanger. I saw no signs of scratches or chips.I will be using this often to keep sight of my purse when Iām out in public places.
