Step 1: Align the holes of the napkin bar with the holes of the marble base.
Step 2: Insert the 1st screw from the bottom of the marble base into the napkin bar and tighten it slightly by hand.
Step 3: Insert the 2nd screw from the bottom of the marble base into the napkin bar, and tighten it slightly by hand.
Step 4: Tighten 2 screws at the same time with a cross wrench.

I like this towel holder however, the screws that came with it or the holes in it were not sized properly so we had to get out the drill and fix the holes in able to assembleit.
