growing up my parents would have purchased something like this for me from NATGEO. the name alone meant it would be a great product and learning experience. today, not so much. everything is outsourced to save a dollar. the quality is okay, but after assembly we can't get it to function without jamming. it's a decent size, but even the base is super cheap/thin plastic. it looks neat, but we don't want to touch it like a 2,000 piece puzzle so it doesn't fall apart. overall we're not impressed, and a little bummed.

Very nice product. I am an adult who had some difficulties with assembly. I had to take apart and reassemble some sections. After starting the motor i had to glue a few pieces to keep the model from loosing pieces. Otherwise, i like the end product. Other viewers love it. It is fun.

Really cool and different puzzle that the boy child liked putting together and displaying in his room. He is 11 years old and didn't need much help.

This kit is so cool! I built it with my small class (6 or fewer kids) as a STEM project, and we had an awesome time of it. The wooden pieces are well-cut and fit together well, and the added movement and lighting really makes this set *chef's kiss*! It's not a complicated build, but it is super cool in motion and with lighting. The design really gives the swimming illusion. 5/5 would buy again!

This is a very intricate model that requires PATIENCE AND DELICACY to put together.you will need two pairs of hands a times.Though the wood has a good thickness for how small this is, there are some TINY pieces that again need DELICATE handling.Box says 12yrs old, I will tell you my 17 yr old snapped the 1st piece clean in half.... it takes a few attempts to get the right balance of pressure and delicacy to put pieces together properly.BE sure to secure each piece until they are FLUSH at the outer side otherwise it will not move smoothly. There is some flexibility to making adjustment once completed but YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL.I thought this could be charged but it does need to be plugged in to work. (cord is USB ended)Perfect for a science project model.
